Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

In the day of pop culture and loosely attached theology, what a joy to welcome Evan Lenow's Biblically Correct: Engaging Culture with Truth. Benefiting from a strong Christian home and a powerful church, Lenow has seen at work the superiority of the biblical way. Therefore, when he deals with sensitive issues such as human sexuality, issues of life, and the importance of marriage as he does extensively in this book, he brings the benefits of experience, thorough grounding in biblical truth, and the insights of a visionary to the task. Without reservation, it is my joy to recommend Lenow's wonderful challenge to embrace genuine Christian ethics.

Our world has lost its moral compass and thereby has gone astray. We have turned away from God and the clear teachings of His Word, the Bible. Evan Lenow's Bible study, Biblically Correct: Engaging Culture with Truth is a breath of fresh air amid the smog of relativism that plagues our generation. Our men's and women's ministries at Bellevue Baptist Church have benefitted greatly from this study. It exalts Jesus Christ and elevates the Word of God to its rightful place as our guide for living by God's truth and principles.

Biblically Correct provides a 10 week study for a biblical response to culturally relevant issues. After using this book in a small group discipleship setting, the benefit of the interactive material and open discussion elevated the content of the book. While not pretending to be exhaustive on any one issue, the book does present key cultural issues, such as the definition of marriage, homosexuality, and the beginning of life, with the objective of seeing the issue through the lens of the Word of God. It promotes a high view of scripture that makes the Word of God completely sufficient to provide answers for these key issues. It does not just encourage academic study, but always brings the study to an application of engagement with culture.

As a Pastor, this book is a relevant and culturally aware resource for believers wanting to interact with scripture and elevate it’s truths instead of politically correct ideals. Whether in a small group, Sunday School, or leadership training atmosphere, this book can be personally or corporately engaged and valuable. It will equip the saints, spur in-depth discussion, and give confidence for a strong biblical voice in a disheveled culture.

I finished this study with my church last semester and it was fantastic. Really helps you face everyday situations with biblical knowledge and confidence to have tough talks with others. I highly recommend. It would be excellent as a church study, a discipleship group, or even just by yourself. This will help you grow in your faith for sure! Thank you Evan!
