I purchased a pair of Polk audio tsi100 bookshelf speakers from hhgregg for around $103 a piece and a Polk sub. Brought them home and returned them a few days later. Did not like the sound. Saw these and did a little research on BIC. Interesting company that gets very little press. The sound is much fuller and louder than the polks. They are also bigger and heavier than the polks (taller and wider, I think the polks might have been slightly deeper). The lows are amazing and the highs are what you would expect from a quality bookshelf speaker. For $99 a piece they are a great value. I listen to a variety of music from classical to hip-hop. It is really amazing how good the lows sound for bookshelf speakers.

One nice feature that I have never seen before is the way the wires connect. Instead of twisting a million times you just push down on the gold "connectors", insert the thread, and release. I have banana plugs, but for those who do not, this is a nice feature.

They are 350 watt speakers. The description said 375w and 350w. However they are 350w. Amazon sent them in a amazon box and inside the box was the BIC box. Inside the BIC box was the speaker and an owners manuel. Each speaker is in a separate box. Thus, two amazon boxes and a BIC box in each.

These speakers are nothing short of amazing. I hav placed these on VideoSecu 2 speaker stands which are also another nice little gem for the money. Just buy your own carpet spikes and your golden. The BICs are efficient and natural sounding. I currently am using these with an Audioromy 828A tube amp rated at 35wpc using FU-29 power tubes X2, 6N3P-EV X2 matched pair 1960s NOS, 6N2P-EV X2 matched pair 1960s NOS. I listen to vinyl using a modified Technics SL1200 turntable, SACDs, DVD audio discs, FLAC lossless, and use an Asus Xonar soundcard in my computer. Sound quality is important to me and I am an audiophile. I also own a pair of Martin Logans for my large system. My listening room is 12ftX15ft. After several long days of listening to music these speakers really sing. Several reviewers have claimed that these BIC FH-65B speakers claimed that they sound very close to the Klipsch Reference series. I have to agree with them as I have auditioned both pairs (Klipsch RB-600) side by side at a friends house using his Ideal Innovations 100wpc custom built tube amp and the Bics really rock hard enough that you may not even need a sub if you have good strong power contrary to what other reviewers have stated. The key here is that you have quality power. Example- I tried these on my 80wpc Pioneer Elite home theater receiver (didnt sound as good) and my tube amp actually had more bass driving power and much better sound stage/imaging. Needless to say the BICs sound clean, silky smooth, excellent bass response, image well and are efficient. The build quality is good, the quick disconnects are nice, the grills are nice too as they are made of MDF and don't interfere with the drivers. The horns are not compression drivers but they sound just as good.Read more ›

Very good overall, excellent for the size and price, and *OUTSTANDING* horn.
Beautifully made, nice connectors, useful (and strong) hanging slot at the back, surprisingly good low-frequencies response for a woofer of this size. The horn is the high point of it: you have to listen to it's naturality to understand how superior it is to ordinary drivers, specially when playing horns since they produce the sound by the same way. Plays great even at low powers (and handles well the plentiful of power that my 100w THX-certified Kenwood VR-7070 delivers), matches perfectly the B.I.C. V1020 sub and FH6-LCR center channel speakers. Great bang for the buck, the BIC FH-65B speakers are one of the reasons why I think most "famous" speaker brands are way overpriced. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the fact that the beautiful front grills are a bit fragile, and tear down easily - a chronic problem with all BIC speakers, since the early 1970s, BTW.
PS. My 1974 BIC Venturi Formula 4 speakers *still* speak VERY well, beating any modern speaker I've tried with it's 25-23.000Hz frequency response. It's a shame BIC doesn't produce them anymore, as they fetch more than $500 used nowadays.

These are the best priced alternative to Klipsch's Reference series. I initially was buying Klipsch as I have heard the unique sound they produce. These,I hesitate to say "knock off's", are at an equal in sound, and similar in build design. The tweeters are so accurate and life like that it's hard to believe your listening to a horn driver! There is nothing harsh or bright about the treble these produce and I am really stunned by that! The woofers/midrange put out a generous amount of tight, clean, bass. The port is in the rear. The included wall hanging bracket hangs on a nail or screw and provides 3/8" clearance at the top, tapering down to flush at the bottom. In the center of the eyelet is a threaded insert for use with stands or quality mounting brackets. I found the amount of air moving out the port caused excess vibration in paneled walls and distorted it's accuracy. The port tube is identical to Klipsch's and I wonder if the two companies don't use the same parts manufacturer. I recommend bookshelves or quality mounts that give several inches of clearance. The only flaw I found was the tiny square logo on the mesh grill was a hair crooked. I am buying the F12 subwoofer as they also use Klipsch's port tube technology and Bash amplifier. The Best Sound at the Best Price!
