5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best
This is one unique and very good lighter. The best thing about this lighter is that you can light any type of candle using one of the three positions. I recommend this product highly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lumiere is below average
I was quite pleased when I first got this product. It is kind of hard to light, but this is a good child safety feature. It has a sleek design with a good reach and we found it to be quite useful for about 2 months, until it ran out of gas. Surprise, no refill!

For this price you should be able to refill this product. I now feel like I was ripped off. I...

This lighter is great and I loved it up until it ran out of fluid, which took about two months. I can't find anything like it that is refillable though. All of the refillable ones are straight and I prefer this. I wish they would make a refillable version.

1.0 out of 5 stars People Proof, November 27, 2007
This review is from: Bic Luminere Candle Lighter [Kitchen]
This product is touted as Child Proof which is great, but I have a senior citizen parent who purchased this and didn't have the strength to click this lighter. Even I had trouble getting it to work most of the time and I have no grip or strength difficulty.

5.0 out of 5 stars The safe way to light candles, November 23, 2005

Many lighters will not work when you are trying to light a candle inside a candle holder that is deeper than the votive holders. For this reason, the extended lighter portion that adjusts to three different levels, becomes very convenient. You may also find that lighting candles up on a mantle becomes much easier because you don't have to take the candles down to light them. The flexible arm that reaches to light the candlewick is especially helpful and after buying one of these I looked everywhere for another one. They seemed to be very popular and always out of stock! Fortunately now I can add these to my shopping cart!

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste, October 30, 2011

This review is from: Bic Luminere Candle Lighter [Kitchen]
Bought this the other day. I've lit it maybe a dozen times. I folded it up and put it in the cupboard for a few days, took it out, and tried to light it. Won't work. It's hard for me to get it lit when it does work properly, but when it doesn't... There's plenty of fluid in it (I can hear it swishing when I shake it), but it must not be creating the spark to get it lit. I can hold down the trigger and put an already lit flame near it and it will catch, but it can light up by itself. Sad. Freakin' waste of money. I'll have to find another solution that's easier to use and more reliable... but then, it won't be too hard since this one failed so bad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could Be Better, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Bic Luminere Candle Lighter [Kitchen]
Although the product does offer the advantage of a multi-position wand, there are a couple of things I wish they had done differently. First, the flame is not adjustable. The flame is rather long, and if a candle is stubborn and doesn't light right away the flame will be burning up the top of the candle. The best way to avoid this is to point the wand straight down, but if you do this for more than a few seconds the metal tip gets quite hot. You're also using up a lot of fuel in cases when you don't need to. This ties in to my second complaint, the lighter is not refillable. The unit is a bit expensive to just be thrown away, plus tossing out all that hard plastic and metal seems a bit wasteful.

Unless you have container candles that are too difficult to light with a match, I would stick with matches or butane candle lighter that can be refilled.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT REFILLABLE, May 7, 2011
This review is from: Bic Luminere Candle Lighter [Kitchen]
This lighter, nicely designed as it is, IS NOT REFILLABLE. It may last you approximately two months, then you're faced with an empty lighter. NOT REFILLABLE!!! ANOTHER PRODUCT FOR THE LANDFILL. Hey BIC, think of the environment...or a refillable model.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bendable Bic lighters, November 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bic Luminere Candle Lighter [Kitchen]
I got the lighters I ordered in reasonable amount of time, and they were exactly what I ordered. These bendable lighters are becoming difficult to find, so I was happy to get these. They are perfect for lighting jar candles, and when they are folded are easy to store in a drawer or cabinet, which makes keeping them handy easier.
