I bought this LP when it first came out, while I was living in Brazil. I am so thrilled to find it available on CD!

Caetano's constant self-exploration is evident in his music. In the case of this album, he shares the African heritage that is so much a part of Bahia, a sense of communing with nature, and an innocence that reflects the hippie lifestyle he led in the sixties. Songs like "O Leaozinho", about watching a cute little lion cub, artfully combine all three of these elements.

Even if you don't understand a word of Portuguese, this is an excellent album to play while laying back with your eyes closed, imagining yourself in a hammock, inhaling the combined aromas of fresh coconut and salt water, and allowing yourself to be transported back to a simpler time...
