I've had this bike transporter for about a year now. The idea is great but the construction & design is poor. Yesterday I loaded it with 4 bikes as usual (2 adults and 2 kid bikes) and after about a block since leaving my hose, we heard a big "thud" and a horrible noise. Stopped to check and "Lo and behold" the base had broken, the 4 bikes fell and I dragged them for a few feet before stopping. Luckily, this happened at about 10 miles per hour and not in the highway where I was headed. It could have caused a major accident. I forgot the name of the company that makes them otherwise I'd sue them for the inherent risk. I had used it without problem until now. This was while using the 2 inch adapter... If you already have this transporter be very careful and never load 4 bikes!!

This bike rack rocked back and forth so violently in the trailer hitch that we stopped at a hardware store and purchased tie downs.. (kinda defeats the purpose of a hitch style rack), also appeared to be used, threads on a bolt were smashed and rubber on the arm was deeply gouged. Emailed company, they stand by their product told me I could pay for return shipping if I wanted a refund. Would not reccommend this product if you have a 2' hitch!

It's not the best bike rack but, for what it cost it is worth the price. I am not sure you can carry 4 bikes on it, but since we carry only 2 it's just fine.

I was impressed on how fast it shipped. I ordered it two weeks prior to driving from SoCal to Montana hoping it would make it. It made it in 3 days. I was not so impressed with the feel/weight of the rack. It felt light due to the thin gauge metal used. I saw a hole in one of the welds through the metal tube construction. I was worried the bikes would not make it to Montana. After several miles, pot holes, and looks up in the rear view mirror, I started to build confidence the rack would prevail. It made it there with 4 bikes and home again with 4 bikes. I am very pleased. I know I could have spent more for a product that appeared more rugged, but for the money, this product did the job.
