Something odd about the way these Svengali decks are packaged. I bought four decks and all of them contained only 48 cards. I immediately noticed that the deck seemed light and I think spectators might also. It wouldn't matter for some tricks, where the deck stays in my own hands, but there are times when I let the audience cut the deck.

I noticed several companies selling Svengali decks like these with a "Hypnotic" eye paper wrapper around the deck. So, maybe this 48-card deck is the way the California Card Co. packages a Svengali for resellers.

I noticed that [...] was advertising theirs as "Factory Sealed", so I ordered four from them. Seems to be a much better deal. It's a full 52 card deck, plus three additional very nice gaff cards and a web address for a free instructional video. I paid 6.95 per deck. Shipping was free, because my total order was over $50.

I ordered this deck because they advertized it as "very best deck on this market". I disagree with that statement. Without going into detail and revealing anything. Handmade is not the "very best deck on this market". They also tell you the "Force Card: Ace of Hearts or Queen of Clubs Red Svengali Deck Force Card: Seven of Spades or Jack of Diamonds" that's odd because mine was a Four of Clubs. The corners were not even correct. STAY AWAY unless you have money to waste.

Love this deck! High quality deck. A huge difference in ease of shuffling compared to any other deck I've had!

Classic deck. The best deck for a beginning magician. Tricks are easy to do, and people have a hard time figuring it out.

For those that don't know, this is a trick deck for magic tricks, and the audience will not be able to inspect it themselves.

It's a standard Svengali deck that works great for the designated Svengali tricks. I usually stick to tricks you can do with a normal deck, because people often want to shuffle or inspect before/after. But that's why it's nice to have a Svengali Bicycle deck as opposed to the suspicious looking bridge ones...you can do various tricks with a normal deck, and then pull out this one and it looks the same, so there's no reason for anyone to suspect it's not the same deck you were using before.

But that's also why I wanted to get one red and one blue Bicycle deck. When ordering I saw that I couldn't specify, which was disappointing, but I ordered two and hoped I'd get lucky. Unfortunately, not only did they send two decks of the same color, it had the same key card! Kind of a bummer, but oh well.

I spent a couple of years making magic a part time hobby. The Svengali Deck is a great tool. I bought one from here and one from a magic shop online and one from a magic shop in person. This was the best one in terms of cut.

If you're doing magic, this is worth it. That said, follow the magician's code. Practice until you master the deck until you can use it without giving away any secrets, and never tell your secrets to others. Few things are more frustrating than "that guy" who starts blabbering on about how he knows what's going on and he's seen this before, yada yada. If you're the guy who screws up the trick or tells that guy how to do it then I hope you disappear.
