This review is from: 25 Bicycle Tours in Savannah and the Carolina Low Country: From Hilton Head to the Okefenokee, Second Edition (Paperback)
Thanks to the guide, we went to the best entrance to the Okeefenokee, and had a great time.
Some of the reviews are a bit optimistic about the quality of the bicycle paths and traffic conditions, but in general I found it a very readable, friendly guide to the area. We were visiting on St. Simons Island for a week and used that as our base of operations. The guide provided some great ideas for out of the way, picturesque routes, with fewer miscues and oversights than I'm used to with this kind of guide. Some more subtle and out-of-the-way routes in Savanna would be nice - I'm sure they're there. Overall, it was definitely worth the price and added value to our bicycling vacation. |
