I collect playing cards for their designs. Many of the decks in my collection have unique backs, Jokers, and the Ace of Spades, but the face cards are usually standard.
This deck is 100% unique. Each outward angle of the diamond, club, heart or spade has a flourish, EACH face card is unique and different, and the numbers and letters on the cards are also unique. The only cards that are standard are the Jokers...weird. The cards themselves are grey, both front and back with black, white and red ink. As for the quality, I'm finding them not to be the stiffest card stock, but they're not the weakest either. Just keep in mind that it's most likely meant to be a novelty deck. Bravo to Bicycle!

These cards were a birthday gift for my guy because he loves playing cards and loves things that are funny/spooky. These cards are artistic (in a sort of Edward Gorey way) and unique. Each of the "royal" cards is totally unique. It is definately one of his favourite sets!

Cool designs, poor quality,
I do magic tricks, many of them involving cards. I've owned hundreds of decks, and I'm sorry but these are not top quality USPC card stock. Sure, they fan well out of the box, but within the hour they were pretty much reduced to pretty looking novelty garbage. The card stock is noticeably thinner than standard Bicycles (don't believe me? Just play around with a regular deck for 10 minutes and then switch over to this).
In the end a really pretty looking deck that'll do just fine as a novelty item to have a bit of fun with, especially around Halloween. If you want a deck of cards to last? This isn't the place to look.

Cool Design, Reasonable Quality,

Cool design, reasonable quality cards. I've never played with them under a black light, however contrary to another review they're just fine under normal light conditions and I prefer them over a regular deck because of the unique face cards. In fact they're ideal for Pinochle class games where most of the deck is made up of royalty.
One bonus star because for less than four bucks, this is a very reasonably priced novelty deck. I just order another pair of decks because they're so cheap.

I bought these cards to "show off" with. I used to do magic tricks when i purchased these. However, they are very slick and you cant really do magic tricks with them, and they are hard to shuffle because of them being so slick and glossy. These cards always impress friends and guests. They all have a unique look, and they're not too expensive compared to other places. I recommend these cards mostly if they are used to play cards with.

these cards have very good art style but they are not for magic, you may play poker with them but they're not very good for that neither, mine smelled weird, and smell is not gone even a year later.

Good Looking Cards (That's about the entire list of positives),

These cards look awesome, especially under a black light, but that's about it. I use cards mainly for magic and within a week these cards were already clumping. Forget doing fans, even doing a ribbon spread was impossible. It felt like there was clay rubbed between each card and they were sticking together. The stock is also thinner, which is good for double lifts and things, but the thickness of normal bikes is the perfect balance between ability to perform tricks and durability. The thinness of the stock sacrifices strength and longevity of the cards too much. The cards are so sticky that even shuffling is almost impossible. If you collect cards, these are fine, but for playing and magic, these are a disappointment. If these cards didn't look so cool, they would've gotten one star.

The concept is very intriguing, but I tried playing with the cards in a room lite entirely by black light and to my dismay I could only see the heart and diamond suits(which looked really cool). However, anything black on the cards could not be seen very well at all. That means it was awfully hard to play with the clubs and spades. Adding a little regular light to see the black cards enough to play with them just negated the glowing effect that made the red cards so cool to play with. As painstakingly tedious as it might sound I'm thinking about getting some black-light paint and taking care of the situation myself. Any other ideas?
