From the Author
The bicycle trails of Minnesota and Wisconsin follow rivers, cut through northern forests and tunnels, skirt lakes and stop in charming small towns that anyone would want to call home. As writers, our goal was to bring the whole experience of bicycle touring to our readers. We give the usual information about the trails: trail highlights, trail length, type of riding surface, how to get there, etc., but we also include a calendar of festivals and events near each trail, lodging and camping information and alternate activities such as antique shopping, canoeing and museums. With this information, a weekend bike ride becomes a mini-vacation. Our maps are our own, four color, original design, not a quick download from Yahoo. They include information about how to reach the trail head, parks and beaches near the trail, and an extensive network of low traffic country roads that allow you to break away from the trail to explore the entire region.
