5.0 out of 5 stars Talented Wheels
Bicycle is a collection of the most creative and energetic musical fun that I have discovered in a long while. Raw creativity with a smooth production hand...all recorded in a basement too. Great job to Bicycle. Wish I could find more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Irritating
I bought this album based on the glowing 5 start reviews you all gave it but it just bugged the crap out of me. I hope Amoeba Music will buy it for some decent credit.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best recording of the 90's, September 14, 1999
This review is from: Bicycle (Audio CD)
I got this cd on a whim. I don't even remember how I heard about it. I love it regardless, and I have to say it is one of my favorite CD's of all time, and I have a lot of cd's to speak of. You are missing out if you don't have this cd in your collection. It is an absolute injustice if radio does not grab a hold of this disc sometime in the future. Don't miss the Bicycle tour coming in may too. But more than anything, get this cd,..no matter what type of music you like, this crosses all boundaries, and it is an ingenius work that can unify all music listeners. Definitely worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR BICYCLE!, August 13, 1999

Hey folks! This is the second-coming of Kurt. Not Cobain, Liebert. The next greatest musician named Kurt may one day surplant the first. In my own opinion he is much better. The songs of bicycle are varied but still powerful. With a general pop to serious rock feel, there isn't a song that won't grab your ear. 68 is a quick number that gets you right into the band. All of Her Chords should be a #1 single when they release it. Bionic is a rock-rap jam without the harsh edge. Oh Jesus I'm dying is a hymn-like ditty that even in its nature is great. The view of the valley is another tune you will want to hear everytime. And the last song I'll cover is Fingerpainting. Quick and catchy. But don't get me wrong. These aren't buble gum pop songs. Bicycle creates a sound that is unique in that it can't be pinned down. The range that Kurt shows on each track not only in his vocal ability but general musical talent is astounding. Take my word for it, if you like music, you will LOVE Bicyle. This is a cd every single person should have in their household.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem., June 28, 2004
This review is from: Bicycle (Audio CD)
I first heard Bicycle on 99x Atlanta. Totally fell in love with the song 'Electrolux'. Unfortunatly, i was leaving America soon after to return to little Singapore in Asia. And to my amazing surprise, a few weeks later, i found a copy of this album at Tower Records.

This album is really good from start to end. Its a infusion of pop, rock, punk, and country. Its very original and unique. Tracks which stood out for me are, 'Daisydunes.com', 'All Her Chords', 'That Cat', 'Electrolux', 'View of The Valley', 'Pop Song', 'Wilderbeast', 'Fingerpainting' and 'Earthquake'. As you can see, bascially the whole album was great.

This is defiently a refreshing realease by one of the best unkown bands out there. I hope to hear more from Bicycle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Listen Up, June 9, 2000

I just came back from bicycle's State 68 tour with a CD in hand and high expectations. They are so incredible live that I figured there was no way the album could possibly live up to what I'd seen on stage. How wrong I was....I have been playing it nonstop. My roommates are about to kill me, but I won't relinquish the stereo. Kurt's lyrics are funny and intelligent and the arrangments are really original and catchy. Daisudunes.com and Electrolux will be imbedded in your brain forever.

5.0 out of 5 stars thankyou bicycle, June 2, 2000
This review is from: Bicycle (Audio CD)
Had been drizzly-rained on , harrassed by very aggressive sheep, no good beer in the cottage - but played this CD and if I could whisk up a convincing soundtrack to all the things I was fond of in my years in Colorado this is it. Roadside Attraction, dusty stoner roads, breaking down in Buena Vista and hitching with ex-inmate Jimmy, dry-bone days. Sweet with baggy thrift store overtones. The lyrics remind me a wee bit of Syd Barrett - perhaps with a slightly healthier pulse. If your tastes are mongrel, broken but earnest you may like the whimsy. Harmonicas/whazoos/banjo and that slidey thing too. And the stories are good. Yes and I snowboarded to "daisydunes.com" when everyone else was aggressing it to Korn...sorry. "Oh Jesus I'm Dying" - I want to find a porch in the sun and slap the soles of my shoes - very happy. When people all around me, in ignorance, slag off America I now know how to bring them around - I've found my smug reply in bicycle.

I love this disc- man, "Bionic" and "High Plains Drifter" make me drive really fast and turn the music up and sing really loud, and the rest makes me keep listening and sharing it with others. This is a fun CD, and one of the best of the year!
