Music has always been a part of me.During my school days and dealing with studies, this Album repeated itself over and over and over. Back then I had to make several copies of the master tape. This Classic, takes you to other realms. Takes you to the skies above and reach the stars and brings you down to earth. If you have listened and enjoyed "Carmina Burana" by "Carl Orff", you are guaranteed to love "BIDAD". Mr. Shadjarian's voice, with the smooth sailing of Mr. Meshkatian's wooden hammers on the strings of "Santoor" is a match made in heaven...As a person who has played "Santoor" himself from childhood as a professional, I have always enjoyed this work from Mr. Meshkatian. ... If you love music at it's best, this is a certain hit. The poetry used in this composition on its own is enough to capture every one's heart. "Hafiz" has left Iranians with a treasure that every one keeps close to heart and cherish. " Gar Tcheh Yaaraan Faareghand Az Yaad-e Man....Az Man Eeshaan Raa Hezaaraan Yaad Baad " ....Even though no one knows where I am or how I am, I can never forget how my friends and I live with their memories.... This is not a fair translation of the verse, as Hafiz has to be read and explained by another poet. There are deep meanings behind every word. Friends don't just mean friends!... This Album is on the key of " Hommaayoon " one of Seven major key of Classical Persian Music.

I listen to this masterpiece every day and every time I learn something new form it. The great work of three top musicians (Shajarian, Bikchekhani, Meshkatian) has made this work of art something that will remain with us for ever. Ostad Bickehkhani with his remarkable talent on the Tar and Shajarian with his powerfull voice bring tears to my eyes every time I listen to their great music. What other thing you will notice is that the poems chosen by Shajarian for this work back at that time (1980) and the fact that how it fits the situation in Iran at that point of time.
