3.0 out of 5 stars Well designed, but not compatible with all toilet seats
This unit is simple and very easy to install. It may work with most basic toilet seats, but it didn't work with mine. I have a "KOHLER K-4636-0 Cachet Quiet-Close Elongated Toilet Seat", which I also got from Amazon. When I installed the bidet under this seat, the bidet's form factor didn't provide enough clearance in the back of the seat to allow me to lower the seat...

Took about 30 minutes to install. Is adjustable post holes to accommodate any toilet seat. The nozzle tilts in 4 or 5 positions. The nozzle retracts when not in use.

The drawback is that in order to use it, it requires a strong stream of water pressure in order for the nozzle to come out. It is on a spring that retracts it. So you won't be able to control the water stream at lighter pressures.

With the drawback being a minor issue for me, I think this was a great purchase. It was inexpensive and works great. The first time I used it was quite an unusual experience, but I don't think I could ever go back to just toilet paper.

When I installed the bidet under this seat, the bidet's form factor didn't provide enough clearance in the back of the seat to allow me to lower the seat all the way down, leaving the front part of the seat up in the air. I am not sure what the exact specs of the toilet seat should be for the bidet to be installed properly but just a word of caution that it may not work with all the toilet seats out there.

I was looking for a simple device because simple machines last longer. Although it is simple, this device does its jobs much better than I expected. Installation is easy but requires some hand muscles. Hand paddle works just fine and ergonomic. I guess its price is reasonable. There is no con I can think of.
I still don't know and do not want know how people are comfortable without using this kind of devices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Functional but..., February 2, 2010

This functions well and we are glad to have it.
Two problems:
-The plumbing fittings included are tricky to assemble leak-free. I felt like if I tightened them too far they would break yet I needed to make them pretty tight before they stopped dripping.
-The on-off valve has changed it's off position. Originally, the valve would sit perfectly horizontal when shut off. After a week or so, it will no longer go all the way back to horizontal and droops by maybe 20 degrees. It still works fine, but appearance is degraded and I wonder how long it will last.

Overall, I'd like to look at some of the competing products to see if they look any better-built. In the absence of a better-built product in this price range, I would buy this again (unless it fails prematurely.)

I've owned other bidet's before and this one does not look as sleek, but you can't beat the price. Simple to install and works like a charm. I have 1 for each washroom.

Easy to install, works great, I had a leaking problem with it after 2 months, called the seller, within 2 minutes they shipped me a new one no questions asked. I Highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Innovative, September 6, 2009
This review is from: Bidet BB-500: room temperature water bidet, with no electricity required (Health and Beauty)
Smart design allows this plastic toilet-seat bidet to install quickly in most situations. Unfortunately, mine was an apparent exception. I have a Kohler one-piece Rialto 3386 model toilet, imported from China. This bidet, also imported from China, didn't fit well. My one-piece toilet looks exactly like the one in the illustration, so I thought it would fit good (hence 4 stars). However, its thickness required me to replace the toilet seat bolts with longer ones. Finding stainless or solid brass bolts of the right size added to my installation time. The bidet extends a bit more than I want it to beyond the inside seat opening. That said, the bidet does its job of cleansing and reducing toilet tissue waste. Non-heated water doesn't seem to bother users.

This is great & cleans well. Pressure control is not the best but acceptable. Cold water is not bad. We even save money by not buying toilet tissue any more. Should have purchased much earlier. I feel every house hold should have this or even a more expensive bidet...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good value, needs better pressure control valve, April 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bidet BB-500: room temperature water bidet, with no electricity required (Health and Beauty)
This bidet is definitely worth its price. The adjustable spray angle is a valuable feature. I have one complaint and one concern. My complaint is that the pressure control valve is difficult to adjust. It seems to be bound-up or stuck as you try to turn the water on/off. My concern is that the all-plastic construction will crack, split, or break when no one's around. A lot of water could escape causing lots of damage before the problem is detected. This product would be ideal if it had a better valve and was all metal.

This unit has sold me on the value of a bidet. I'll be installing a unit that addresses the issues noted above.

Update (5/17/11): I had to return this item due to a water leak. The company was very responsive to this problem and provided a replacement very quickly. Excellent customer service gets 5 stars!!!
