I bought this block of marzipan to make roses for my daughter's wedding cake in September. Came out beautifully!! I kept the rest for my sisters and I to wrap our traditional English Christmas fruitcakes. Well....not quite enough of the marzipan made it to the Thanksgiving weekend when the cakes were made. Instead,we decided to eat the rest with a spoon (actually, I was digging chunks out with a butter knife between September and Thanksgiving!) This is the real deal and you won't find a better price.

There are many grades of Marzipan and I would rate this one at cooking and pastry making grade, but not as a fine candy. It had a tiny bit of unmixed almond flour but this was one of the few marzipan products that was wheat (gluten) free so we loved it!

The Marzipan lasted 3 months in our frig without getting moldy or stale.

I have been a marzipan fanatic for over 55 years. While there are finer and fancier marzipans, in my opinion, for the money, this is a very nice, dependable product. I buy a 5 pound wedge every year, and make candy gifts for family and friends, and always get compliments and cheers. If you are a serious gourmet, you might not care for it, but for most people, for general use, it is quite nice.

I have bought almond paste and made my own marzipan in the past. I tried this premade product and was completely satisfied. Not much more expensive than do-it-yourself and certainly a lot less work! I would like to get it in smaller blocks, say 2 lb. If marzipan is not available to you locally, the extra expense of shipping is inevitable and your only choice.

This is the best, very easy to work with and abundance with flavor. Used this for my son's wedding cake and recieved multi compliments. Used the small leftover amount in a cheesecake along with some Belgium Chocolate. Needless to say all disappeared quickly. The cake was four layers deep.

I have been buying this marzipan regularly for the past few years. I use it in our weekly strudels (see strudel recipe and tutorial at [...]- [...] for pictures of this marzipan in use), and it is a joy to work with. It is always delivered quickly, fresh and delicious.

This product is kosher: It is supervised by the OU, and pareve.

I have tried ordering in larger amounts, but 5lbs stays fresh without getting dried out. 10lbs. dried out after a two months, despite being kept in an air-tight container. Smaller amounts weren't cost-effective, due to the price of shipping.

As a few others have mentioned, this is not a high grade marzipan. It doesn't taste or feel like the Odense marzipan I normally buy. This tastes more doughy or floury (like flour) (are those even words?) It does seem fresh, and while I do find occasional sections that aren't mixed very well (chunks of almond something - looks white, not an almond though) it does taste ok. If you were baking with it, it's probably good. I just wouldn't use it for making flowers or little edibles. It has a slight alcohol taste. Not bad, but not Odense either.

I ordered another batch from this company and this package tasted MUCH better. Still not quite top grade, but I'm changing my 3 stars to 4. I would buy this again.

This was the first time I'd ever used marzipan and it was for my friends wedding cake. It was delivered a bit early which was great and was very pliable when I received. The five pounds had to stretch pretty far to be rolled into a three tiered cake but it worked out and looked beautiful. Great product and I'd definitely order it again.

The Biermann marzipan is fresh and delicious--best quality of any I've ordered. It arrived fast, triple wrapped and professionally boxed.

I recived my shipment of Marzipan yesterday 9/13/07 and I opened the package to find that the Marzipan had pieces or what looks like food or dirt. I have been picking these pieces out of the Marzipan. I do not have time to reorder from another company so I am stuck using this MarzipanBiermann Marzipan 5 LB. Block. I am unhappy with the Quality and I would not recommend buying Marzipan form this company. I also feel the shipping is very pricey.
