Britpop Brilliance, October 28, 2004
Help out a Southern boy here... can you be Welsh and BritPop at the same time? Take whatever overworn adjective you use when a band blows you away, and it applies to these guys: kick ass, rockin', awesome. There are several absolute gems here. I'm talkin' classic rock'n'roll tunes - Happy Shopper, Pig Valentine (extra points for best title), No. 1 Pure Alcohol. If you like loud, punky, and tuneful guitar, and with great lyrics to boot, buy this disc and you'll never look back. I ain't from Wales, but I know a great band, and this is the real thing.

Another brilliant band lost in the mix..., March 21, 2006
This review is from: Big 3 (Audio CD)
This is what music is all about. Anyone who is a true rock fan will appreciate this album, especially if into so-called Brit-Pop (Suede, Oasis, etc). Standout songs include "Stay", "Hair", "No. 1 Pure Alcohol", "Pig Valentine", "Good Times", and of course "Happy Shopper". The others are very good as well, I've only listed the ones that are extremely catchy. If you like this, check out Candy Skins, Material Issue, and Ride. Why their label didn't promote them more, who knows? Perhaps DGC/Geffen was too busy dealing with Courtney Love fulfilling her contract and legal issues?
