Product Description

Big Agnes REM Air Core Mummy Sleeping Pad is the lightest and most comfortable inflatable pad on the planet. The Big Agnes REM Air Core Mummy is made of a durable 70 denier nylon fabric. They developed an I-beam construction to provide longitudinal rigidity and to give shape to the pad. The I-beam construction allows air to flow freely in and out, and reduces inflation time to a quick two minutes. The Air Core Mummy pads stuff to the size of a Nalgene water bottle and weighs a mere 19-24 ounces, (depending on size) yet provides a whopping 2.5 thick backcountry bed. When used with any Big Agnes sleeping bag, the Air Core pad can be left in the pad sleeve, deflated and stuffed with the bag right into its stuff sack. How's that for ingenuity? ALL REM SLEEP PADS COME WITH A STUFF SACK, REPAIR KIT, AND A 100% GUARANTEE

3.0 out of 5 stars Fine for a few nights, but, November 18, 2008

This review is from: Big Agnes Air Core Pad Mummy (Misc.)
The Big Agnes was excellent at holding air and providing cushion from the hard ground, but it was slick, real slick! If you are on even the slightest incline, by morning, you can expect to be on the ground at the foot of the Big Agnes. Two more good point - easy to inflate and lightweight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pad, better than expected, July 18, 2010

I have always used foam pads in the past but lately decided to try an air pad to get a better sleeping surface. This Big Agnes Air Core pad surprised me. I had read the reviews but... I am mostly a side sleeper and was concerned that a 2-1/2" thick pad might not keep my hips and shoulders off the ground. I have slept on it about 12 nights now and I don't know how they do it but this thing works, it's lightweight, packs small and is very nice quality. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big Agnes air core, January 18, 2007

A nice compact design. Nicely made. Suitable for ligthweight camping in warmer conditions. More comfortable on rough grounds than normal pads . The "I beam" construction means there is no thin area where the surfaces are welded together to make the tubes. I was toying with the insulated model but in the end decided on this one as I have a air matress by Insulmat that I have inserted goose down for cold conditions though - I wish I had the Big Agnes at the time as the "I" beam form would be much better for down insulation.
