Customer Reviews

This tent is very light weight and very easy to set up.

Considering there are so many light weight tents on the market, many of which are very similar, every detail counts and I am extremely disappointed with my purchase.

A really nice touch is a small ventilation window that has a small "bar" to hold the flap open like an awning so rain won't come in.

Like many others, I was apprehensive of spending so much money for a tent BUT I needed something super lightweight that was also well-built. I've never put a tent together, but this is almost idiot-proof. Even so, there are plenty of videos on youtube.com that can walk you through it. It was my first time at pitching a tent and I was able to do it in less than 10 minutes. Now, I know that it can be done in 2 or 3.

The side door was important to me because I didn't like the idea of having to turn in the tent in order to get out. A really nice touch is a small ventilation window that has a small "bar" to hold the flap open like an awning so rain won't come in. Overall, it's obvious that a lot of thought went into this tent.

This is the best single person tent on the market. It is super lightweight and ventilates better than anything else out there. If you are sick of condensation problems in your tent, this is the one for you. Even when condensation gathers on the tent, it drips off the sides and won't go through the netting and get your sleeping bag wet. Well worth the price. This is one purchase you will not regret.

I was extremely excited about ordering this tent. There are a lot of 1 person light weight tents out there to choose from, and this one really seemed to take the cake. While I don't doubt this tent works great in action, the selling point for me that set it apart from a lot of the light weight 1P tents out there, was the second vestibule. That was such an original concept I hadn't seen any where else that seemed so well thought out and functional, that on top of the great performance reviews I couldn't pass it up.

To my dismay, when the tent arrived, it did not have the second zipper across from the main door to access the second vestibule as described in both the product description, and also various reviews online. Apparently, the new model has done away with this, yet is being sold through this product page even though the description still says it has this feature. Removing this feature understandably removes some extra zipper weight, but to me the few extra ounces would be well worth it.

While this seems like a small point of contention, for me this was one of the main selling points. Considering there are so many light weight tents on the market, many of which are very similar, every detail counts and I am extremely disappointed with my purchase. At the very least, the second zipper feature should be removed from the product description on this page to save anyone else looking forward to it the disappointment.

As far as a tent without any bells and whistles go though, it is a solid piece of equipment that I'm glad I have.

I have had this tent for about a year now. Overall, it has been excellent. This tent is roughly 1-2 lbs lighter than most other tents in its class, allowing me to more easily justify the price tag. Experienced hikers know that cutting this kind of weight in your pack will allow you to hike farther, safer, and more comfortably. I only gave this tent 4 stars because of the price.

I have used this tent in many locations in Colorado including Great Sand Dunes NP, White Mountain NF, and Rocky Mtn. NP. It is easy to pitch and meets all other expectations.

I am 6'1" with broad shoulders. The interior and space is sufficient enough to avoid feeling closed in, but its not excessive. The vestibule can accommodate a medium-sized pack and a pair of boots, but not much else.

I have weathered some seriously averse weather in this tent. During a sudden, ~50 mph wind storm in Rocky Mtn. NP that sent other campers scrambling for their cars, a couple of my tent stakes came out, but the tent itself stood solid. I was also able to stay dry and comfortable inside during a couple of rainy evenings in the Pacific NW.

I have been very careful with the tent since lightweight items (in my experience) are sometimes less durable than their more hefty counterparts. Still, after 10-15 trips, I have noticed no signs of wear/tear. I do recommend that anyone buying this tent buys another less expensive/heavier tent for car camping in order to protect your substantial investment whenever you don't need to count ounces.

I have to admit, I have a problem with buying gear. I love having a lot of backpacks to choose from and I love having plenty of tents. After a good search I decided upon the Big Agnes Copper Spur Ultra Light 1 person.

This tent is very light weight and very easy to set up.
2 lb 8 oz and can be set up in less than 10 minutes if you have experience setting it up.

Perfect size for the average sized adult and their gear. I normally use my backpack as a pillow and still have plenty or room towards the end of tent. I am 5'8 by the way. If you are over 6 feet you might want to think about something bigger. That would certainly be a little cramped.

Very good stitching. High Quality tent.

There is a nice layer of nylon fabric between the floor and the mesh-netting. This assists with protection from the elements as well.

Beautifully functional door and useable vestibule area.

Withstands 40 - 50 mph winds easily. I live in the mountains and it has handled everything very well.

Lots of headroom.

Some have complained about the design of the tent and rain. I have had no issues so far and I have been through a number of thunderstorms. I think were some have issues is with cranking down the fly over the tent. You have to adjust it properly!

For my review: It's a great tent. No complaints.
