5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable Camping, March 18, 2010
This review is from: Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Sleeping Pad (Sports)
So much better than a thermarest! Packs smaller, lighter and is way more comfortable. Great product. Every time I take it camping with friends they are VERY jealous when they see how thick my sleeping pad is and amazed at how small it packs down. It only takes a minute to inflate and it is totally worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nest nights sleep in the woods ever!, May 10, 2010

This review is from: Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Sleeping Pad (Sports)
I am hooked on the Big Agnes sleep system. the bags have no insulation on the bottom (Why should they, your body just smashes it, and insulation only works when it is "lofted") You get one of these pads and slip it in the sleeping pad sleeve on the bag and viola! You can't roll of the pad and when you toss and turn your bag never gets tangles, just like at home!

You HAVE to get an insulated pad if the temperature is going to be below 50 degrees, or the ground starts to suck the heat out of you with convection. This pad has a higher R value than the therm-a-rests, is lighter and way more comfortable at 2.5 inches thick, and less expensive to boot. Even if you don't have a Big Agnes bag, these are great mats.

A very comfortable mattress. It is perfect for backpacking and for camping with a two-man tent. Easy to blow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars better than therma-rest, July 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Although this mattress does not self-inflate, it only takes a few breaths to fill. Provides much more comfortable sleeping than my 10 yr old therma-rest; I can sleep on my side. Insulation keeps ground chill & dampness away too. Also packs small so it stows away easily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good pad for New Years., January 3, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I used the pad on New Years Day 2012 while camping at Sumter National Forest in South Carolina. Temperatures dropped to the mid 30's and I was warm in my Eureka Casper 15 sleeping bag. I was thankful that I spent the extra money and got the insulated pad. It takes up very little room in my pack and is comfortable to sleep on. Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Sleeping Pad

It doesn't add much to your warmth, but this is a very comfortable and light pad that I take backpacking. It fits in a small pouch too, which is easy to pack back up. It's way smaller than my Thermarest foam pad, but the foam pad used to provide some extra warmth. I think because this is filled with air, the air can get cold, if it's very low temperatures. It also squeaks around when I toss and turn. Besides that though, it's an awesome product. It's made for comfort, and that's what it does. If I'm laying down, I never touch the ground--I'm always on air, even if I'm sleeping on my side. It's been quite durable for me, but I am careful not to put it on sharp objects. The air stays inside for at least a couple nights, but will start to deflate over time, so you just pump it back up a little. The extra effort to blow the thing up is worth it, in my opinion, vs using a foam pad. I found that the mummy shape helps me fit more people in my tent, and my mummy bag fits well on top. It's a little slippery of a surface, so my sleeping bag will sometimes slide down the pad if I am on an incline. No big deal though. I've been using the product for a couple years now on several camping and backpacking trips, plus I use it to sleep on the ground if I'm visiting somewhere with a sleeping bag indoors, just to keep it more comfortable. Just to note, I fit very well size-wise and weight-wise on the pad so that probably helps with the comfort and everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sleeping pad, May 11, 2011
This review is from: Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Sleeping Pad (Sports)
I went on a six week bike trip through the UK with this thing and all I can it is that it rocked! I got the extra long because I'm 6'3" and it was still very lightweight. I was able to fold this and stuff it into one bike pannier. When it came time for me to camp at night, I would take a few minutes to blow it up (quite easy) and there it was, instant mattress!! I don't know how this compares to other similar sleeping pads but I did some online research and thought this was the best choice for the money. For dependability, ease of use, comfort, durability and price this was a great pick!
