The King Creek 6 Person Base Camp Tent is a good option for family or group camping trips in areas with uncertain weather. The tent offers both 86.5 square feet of sleeping area inside the tent for 6 people, as well as 110.25 square feet of protected vestibule space for living and gear storage. The King Creek's classic dome-style shape is easy to set up and provides a generous 72-inch ceiling height with relatively upright walls to maximize the tent's livable space. Two large "D" doors allow campers to access the tent from either end without having to climb over each other and an additional 11-square foot vestibule provides protected gear storage. Built for three-season use, the King Creek has a breathable polyester body and a mesh ceiling for ventilation and stargazing on clear nights. A fully waterproof full-coverage fly and a waterproof floor as well as taped seams ensure that you remain dry when the sky opens up. The tent offers convenient features including reflective guylines for nighttime visibility, mesh storage pockets, gear loft loops (loft sold separately), and a briefcase style carry bag with long shoulder straps and organizational pockets. The King Creek boasts lightweight DAC Aluminum poles with press fit connectors, plastic clips to secure the tent body to the pole frame, and multiple configurations options including--fly and footprint only (footprint sold separately), tent only, or fly only. This is a great choice for a family tent.

Big enough for a queen-sized air mattress, a baby Pack-N-Play portable crib, diaper changing station, and a plethora of clothes and equipment.

We like to go camping as a family during the summer. There are four of us, two are small children. There is plenty of room on the inside with my wife an I each with an inflatable mattress and the two kids lie on the floor in their sleeping bags. We made in through several rainstorms and heavy winds at the Philadelphia Folk Fest. Many other tents and canopies in the area were flooded and blown away, but inside our tent we were completely dry. What is great about this tent is that the rainfly provides a roomy garage area where you can stuff much of your equipment, chairs and other items to keep them dry. Also the poles are made of aluminum and not as likely to bend as fiberglass. This is a great choice for a family tent.

This tent was new ground for me. After years of minimalistic backpacking, I eventually purchased this tent for camping with my young and growing family. There are lots of big family camping tesnts out there. Having used Big Agnes products in the past (indeed, having grown up at the foot of the Big Agnes namesake), the decision to buy this tent was a no-brainer. I still happy with my choice.

Pros: This tent is big. Real big. Big enough for a queen-sized air mattress, a baby Pack-N-Play portable crib, diaper changing station, and a plethora of clothes and equipment. The rain fly is huge, and covers all of the tent walls. But, the best part of this tent is the vestibule (the covered entrance to the tent). Cheap tents have token vestibules or none at all. The vestibule on this tent is almost big enough to park a SUV. Slight hyperbole aside, when it rains, we pull all our equipment into the vestibule (stove, firewood, backpacks, Bob stroller, etc). This tent is easy to set up, too. We went camping with friends. They brought their Coleman tent (of about the same size), we brought our new and yet-to-be-used King Creek. We had our tent set up (for the first time) in 1/3 the time it took to set up the Colman tent. The tent poles are beefy, and the whole package fits easly into the bag.

Cons: If you get this tent, get the made-to-spec floor tarp, too (and additional accessory). The floor of this tent is fairly light and thin. After the first use, we got a few micro holes in the floor from a few not-so-smooth rocks in the dirt. This is common for most tents. Not a biggie.

Highly recommended.

This tent isn't your bargin camping tent from Sam's Club. This tent is for those who understand what quality and customer service from a good quality company is all about. If your a reunion camping family who camps once or twice a year. You should go to a box store. If you are a family that explores the outdoors. And you know that the weather can effect your experience. Then go with a company like Big Agnes.
The King Creek 6.
The sleeping capacity, 6, is what it says. My family of 5 sleeps in the tent with snug fit. This keeps you warmer. The more space the more cold air.
The vestibule area. I really enjoy this feature. We can fit all five of us with beach style chairs, plus gear and storage chest as a table. This is our favorite spot to play cards.
I would buy this tent again. We also own the UL copper backpacking tent. Big Agnes uses environmentally friendly products. Plus they have great customer service.

We purchase our Big Agnes King Creek 6 for about $420 from HumbleOutdoors, it came with a free BA footprint

We like to car camp in New England. It's my wife, myself, and a lot of stuff. There is tons of room inside this tent our inflatable queen mattress. The Big Agnes King Creek 6 is a basic bomb proof well made tent. The kind of tent that you use and enjoy for 20 years. You get what you pay for, and the King Creek 6 fits the bill. I would recommend getting a footprint, and packing separate from the tent. It really helps keeping things clean, and extending the life of the tent.
