This sleeping bag is excellent. First, let me tell you I am a 300 pound guy that loves to go camping and backpacking (ya, I know, not many of me out there do this at my size). I am pretty in shape as far as hiking goes for my size.

Finding a lightweight bag that can fit me has been a huge battle. As many of you big guys can attest, finding hiking equipment is a huge struggle on certain things. This is the bag for you. Before this bag, the best I could do is a very expensive mummy bag that I could hardly squeeze into. Squeezing into a bag tightly means less warming capability, so a more expensive and heavier bag was also needed. The Big Agnes Summit Park is good down to 15 degrees (you can also get an overbag to add 25 degrees to that figure) and the loft of the bag is on the top and on the sides and not on the bottom of the bag. You may think this would mean you will get cold on the back-side, but you would be incorrect... The way insulation works is that you have to keep it lofty, it cannot be compressed and work correctly. This is why keeping sleeping bags in a compression sack is not a good idea. This sleeping back keeps a mat that you tuck into a pocket on the back side. This keeps you warm... and since it is attached to your bag, you dont slide off of it which when you are on a slight incline, this is easy to do whether you are a big guy or a little one. IT also allows you to change your position so you can sleep on your sides without the back making this very difficult for you. I have a huge amount of room in the bag.. it is almost like being in my bed if I set the tent on soft ground.

This bag also has one other great use, which is hammock camping.

Wow, this bag packs smaller than any of my other bags and felt like twice the size when sleeping in it! Quite possibly too much leg room, but it's nice having more as opposed to less!!

I really like this bag, I get closterphobic in mummy bags, and I am a side sleeper who tosses and turns a lot. This is the perfect bag for that, I would say it is literally almost too big. I am 6 foot 4 inches 250 pounds and I love this bag, I only got down to 38 degrees with long johns on and it was just right, I'm a little afraid that in the 20s this bag might be two large to stay warm even though its rated for 15 degrees. I'm starting to wish I bought the 0 degree version of this bag. I also didn't realize I bought a left hand zip version, regret that. I love the spot for the pillow to keep it in place, and the end of the bag (mummy part) doubles well as a perfect pillow case when its 50 degrees and above. I used a tapered rei insulated inflatable pad with the two large ribs on the side and it worked perfectly even though they call for a rectangle pad. Overall very happy with this bag, oh and I also bought a medium size waterproof compression sack for this bag which really gets it down in size big time compared to the provided bag. I used the for extreme adventure riding. KTM 530 over mostly single track in Colorado and Utah with connecting dirt roads,.

Just got back from a 3 night backpacking trip in Yosemite. The sleeping bag (paired with the Big Agnes Q-Core pad) was very comfortable without and extra layering when the temperatures dipped down to 35 degrees overnight. I haven't tested the sleeping bag down to its 15 degree temperature rating, but I would guess that 15 degrees is a survival rating, not a comfort rating.

At a little over 5 and 1/2 pounds, the sleeping bag and the sleeping pad is on the heavy side for a 45 mile through hike. However, given the quality of sleep I got from the extra room inside my sleeping bag and the 4" lift off the ground, I would gladly carry the sleep system and shave weight elsewhere.

Although its quite a large bag, it packed down into my pack quite nicely.

I would highly recommend this sleeping bag system with to a friend.

Pros:
- Most comfortable camping experience ever!
- Plenty of space for big guys.
- Plenty warm for late Spring to early Fall.

Cons:
-15 degrees is likely to be a survival rating not a comfort rating.
- A bit on the heavy side for backpacking.

This bag is outstanding! Plenty if room to side sleep or roll over. I'm a big guy(300lbs) and with really wide shoulders, and this bag when used with a pad is the best sleep I've had while camping. When used with compression straps, it sizes down to the size of a bowling ball-ish, which is amazing considering the total size of the bag. The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars(I would rate it as 4.5) is the zipper. It's real easy to catch it in the material and I lts locked up on me a few times. I just backed it a bit and with some easy muscle, it worked itself out. Just use your index finger as a guide to clear the loose material while opening/closing the bag. The shipping from these guys was crazy fast! I'll order more from backcountry edge!
