Bye, bye Delilah,
By Creative Genius (Kentucky) - See all my reviews

The best way to decide whether you will love or hate this record is to ask yourself: how did I feel about the band's last release, Every Second Counts? If you loved it, you're likely to be rather disappointed in this, as it sounds much less like a Disney record. If, however, Every Second Counts was a great disappointment to you and you, like myself, are a fan of their older records, you'll enjoy Big Bad World.
The instrumentation is especially noteworthy - both brash and quiet, elegant and hard. Songs like "Sunlight" and "Someday" expand the band into unfamiliar territory, with real vocal harmonies and true character. "Serious Mistake" has a very noticible Beatles vibe, while "I Really Want You" sounds much like a song called "All I Want is You" by Barry Louis Polisar (Yeah, you're right - the opening theme in 'Juno'; Confused yet?). This record deserves much more credit than is has received. Bye, bye Delilah.

Great Album with an Awesome Sound!,
This review is from: Big Bad World (MP3 Download)
I've always liked the band. They make great songs and know what they are doing. I feel that with this release they found an amazing sound and stuck with it. This album is full of melody and harmony and amazing lyrics. It flows as a piece of work and not random songs. I love it! Every song is amazing and will sure to be stuck in your head!
Bottom Line: If you like Plain White T's, good music, harmony, or melody you will love this album!!! :)

The band's best work yet!,

This is the best work the band has put out. I was wondering if they were going to have the depth and maturity that they show on this work. Delilah was such a huge hit for them it's always interesting to see if they were a one hit wonder or if they have staying power. This cd shows they have staying power. The work is melodic and poetic and sensitive in it's content. The cord changes and progressions are a nice change of pace in today's mainstream rock. Great album.

I bought this CD after I heard their latest single coming out on their new CD. I didn't own anything by the T's until now. This is a great easy listening CD. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes easy rock.

OK, your teenaged daughter won't like it. But she's out of the house anyway, so what the heck?
Put this DVD on while your pasta water is heating up, and so will you. Heat up, that is. And dance inanely around your kitchen. Ah, the Empty Nest!

I bought this CD just for this song and listen to it constantly. However, when it is on shuffle, I have discovered some other great songs on this CD. If you are a fan, you must own this one!

My son, age 10, and I really enjoy this band. It is nice to be able to agree on music that we both like. This group makes songs that are full of melody that flow nicely. I think this is one of their best cds. His favorite song is Big Bad World because it is so catchy and he likes the lyrics. I enjoy 1234.

This is a top drawer set of musical offerings but there aren't enough songs for the $$ paid. This seems to be the trend for the music industry. It's too bad they don't get a clue that when $$'s are shelled out for a CD that it should have a few more offerings.
That being said, the music is great!!!! I love the Plain White T's sound.

1234!,

I first heard the song on the radio, 1234 and loved it the second I heard it, lately it was the only song that was about honestly loving someone and it was refreshing and just happy. I found out it was the Plain White T's and promptly purchased the CD. The lyrics are fairly simple and seemingly child-like but they just make me happy. I also enjoyed their first CD but like this one a little more.
