Listening Well Is The Best Revenge!,
By Ayun Halliday "Author of No Touch Monkey!" (Beautiful Brooklyn New York) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Big Bang! (Audio CD)
My children are mercifully out of their Wheels On The Bus / Itsy Bitsy Spider years, but the whole household is in danger of reverting thanks to Rockosaurus Rex's radical reinterpretation. Hear me, brothers and sisters! The timeworn standards that have brought generations of parents to their knees are no longer fodder for lobotomy! I particularly like the hard grinding madness of the revamped Six Little Ducks, and hope that next time, the artists would humor me by taking a crack at Burl Ive's Little White Duck.
Shelve it with The Bottle Let Me Down, Greasy Kid Stuff I and II, and Eenie Meanie Records' Dimension Mix. Get mad when they grow up and take it to college with them.

My two year old granddaughter shared it with me and I don't know who liked it better. I play it in my car all the time. I love the guitar solos, like in my favorite songs This Old Man and All My Little Horses. All 21 songs are easy to sing-a-long, the drums and guitars save your sanity when you have to listen to the songs over and over again (thanks to my granddaughter requests). Finally something fresh and upbeat, not another boring version of kids songs. And the dinosaurs' vocals are tough men's voices, not babyish, pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend it!!! Hard rock grandma.

Dinosaur CD Rocks!!!,
By Paris LeMonte "Paris" (San Antonio Texas) - See all my reviews

This is the most fabulous CD for Kids that I have ever heard. I am going to purchase fifteen CD's as gifts for my nieces and nephews. They will love it! I want to dance to "This Old Man," and "Six little Ducks" the whole CD is great for adults who want to bring out the inner child. The CD cover says it all. Dinosaurs, a child's fantasy rocking and playing guitar, drums, etc... I encourage everyone to get this CD and give it to all children in the family at any age. This was done with a lot of creativity and love for children. Whoever is behind the artistry of this CD is a genius. Rock on Rockosaurus Rex.

Rockin kids' songs,

I don't know who loves this cd more, me or my one and a half year old ! It's so refreshing to hear her favorite songs sung in such a rockin' way. I wish I could include a video of her dancing to "twinkle twinkle little star" and shouting out the lyrics with such entusiasm. If I had to hear another sappy, sacchrine kids album I would have to get some earplugs soon. I am going to buy this for all my nephews and neices for X-mas . It will be the best stocking stuffer this year!

Every time I've read that some kids album is supposed to be rock, I listen and am always disappointed; it always sounds folksy and watered down. Not so with Rockosaurus Rex. The songs sound like they could be on the radio; there are real electric guitars being played with virtuosity, there's full awesome drums, bass guitar, and strong lyrics. And it's so fun for kids; my toddler loves all the extra fun things thrown in, like the cuckoo clocks on "I'm a Nut," the train on "I've been working on the railroad," the deep thunderstorm effects on "The Ants Go Marching," the sound effects on "Wheels on the Bus," and more. I just really appreciate NOT having to hear yet another tentatively voiced rendition of a kids song with a lightly strumming acoustic guitar. This stuff sounds like serious hard rock, done well, and my husband and I enjoy it as much as my 2 year old (and all the kids in the preschool where I teach, including the pre-K's.) The strong rhythm on the fast tracks just makes the kids jump up and down, and the slow songs have amazing artistry that can be appreciated. I can't recommend this enough. It truly rocks.

Old Folks Rock Too!!!!,
By NJORD "ROCKIN GRANDPA" (SAN ANTONIO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Big Bang! (Audio CD)
Listen up old folks! If it's Depends you're wearing (or you're almost there), and the ol' brain has cobwebs where synapses used to be, buy this album. The real diaper gang is having a lot of fun you're missing out on if you don't have it. You too will get a bang out of The Big Bang by Rockosaurus Rex. This grandpa regrets we didn't have this music when I was a kid. It would have been great to have memories of "Ants Go Marching," "Pop Goes the Weasel" (one of my Dad's favorites when I was knee-borne) or any of the other standards on this album as rock tunes rather than the boring stuff we had. Kids want to have fun. Let them hear this album and they'll be dancing and singing their heads off. So will grandparents and their kids. Driving back from a round of golf, I played this album for a friend of mine (73 years old) and he absolutely loved it (bought it for his own car stereo and one for his wife too). Now he rocks to Rex and the gang on his own time. Hats off and 5 stars to the genius behind Rockosaurus Rex!

Best Alternative Rock,
This review is from: The Big Bang! (Audio CD)
As kids, we use to sing Nursery Rhymes and get the best treat of 'Chocolates' as a reward from our dear ones. It ever was a 'Cloud nine' feel as we felt a pride of achievement. Nursery Rhymes has ever been a means of communication and Expression. Children love to sing the rhymes and as they grow up, these rhymes leave memories to spur on the surface as delightful experiences. I got this Rockosaurus Rex 'Big Bang' some few days ago but the moment I heard, it was a reaction of flooded childhood memories. Big Bang! is more fun with the Rock Rhymes, packed with 21 classic rhymes in 50 minutes play time. The wailing Guitar solos and driving percussion are the new gen beats I admit but nevertheless, kids today like to sing Rock! It do have some the hard rock to soft rock ballads to dreamy rock music. The band seems to be from Austin (TX) yet, aliens, come down on earth as hard rock band of four Dinosaurs - Rex on guitars and vocals, Screech on guitar, Bones playing Bass and Sara Tops with Drums. There is an influence of the age old rock n roll music, the Rockosaurus Rex sings the Queen inspired 'This old man' which reminds of the 'We will, we will rock you', the Hard rock, metal and Instrumental 'Skip to my Lou' and 'Pop goes the weasel' with more of a friendly 'Six little Ducks and my fav ' She'll be coming round the mountain' a classic Rock Rhyme collection with more rhymes tracks to make you get rock rhyme lover. It was a pleasure to listen to John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, a number I didn't know apart from If all the little raindrops that I heard for the first time. The Rockosaurus Rex Band gives a cleaner rock influence of the Dinosaur group guiding them away from big bad world as they sing at home, in school or just have fun partying with rock rhymes. Enjoy!
