I paid $6.99 for 79 Big Bill Broonzy tunes on this Big Bill Blues compilation. I have no idea who put this together but the sound quality of most of the songs are very good considering some are from the 1930's. Big Bill Broonzy deserves so much more credit for being an innovator than he gets credit for historically. Some of the tunes are from his Jazz days featuring barrel house piano accompaniment with his singing and guitar while others are him, a guitar and a string bass. Give the samples a listen and see for yourself that this is a steal for $6.99 and your collection of historic era blues from a man respected by modern day legends like Eric Clapton will benefit greatly at a very reasonable cost.

Big Bill is great. Old School Blues. I brought the CD to work and left it on by desk for a few days and everyone who saw it wanted to borrow it. I leant it to half-a-dozen people and everyone loved it. Down Side: You can still hear the hiss and cracks of the record from the old recordings on some of the songs, but those of us who grew up with records learned to ignore that back when we were kids. About half of the songs are clear of noise. I recommend it highly.
