I am a K4 teacher snd I use this book in conjunction with our letter of the week. My students always love the stories and are interested in the letter. Great way to introduce letter names and sounds to young children. Well written stories, great to have all the stories together in one book. Note: this is not a traditional "big book" which usually means it is a larger size so it's easier for children to see from far away. This is just the size of the individual books, just packaged all together.

Great books for preschoolers,

I do not have this compiled book but do have each individual book. It would be nice to have all the stories compiled like this book has but since I already have all the books separate I cannot see spending money on something I already have. Having them all together would prevent losing one like I did though. The children stay interested. Great for working on rhyming and phonics.

This is the same as the individual books just all in one. With three little kids learning their letters this works much better for me... I don't have to worry about losing one of the thin lettered books somewhere as this is quite thick.

I'm so glad that I purchased the AlphaTales big book! My students have become more engaged with learning the alphabet, eagerly looking forward to seeing which animal has a story to share. It is so convenient to have all of the stories in one book. However, I found that the thickness of the book made it difficult to hold it up and turn the pages for the students to see while I was reading. So, I went to Office Depot and had them to cut the spine off the book, replace it with a coil, and laminate the covers. This made it so much easier to turn the pages. I would definitely recommend this product to all kindergarten teachers. I would also recommend getting the book laminated and coiled.

I previously owned each individual Alpha Tale and many had been lost. Others had bent covers from children reading them. I needed to replace them and decided to get the Big Book. I'm so happy with it! It's a little harder to hold and show the kids, being such a big book, but that matters not, since it's so much more convenient. All the books are together - no chance to lose one and covers and pages will not get bent as easily.
Perfect for my letter-of-the-week preschool class!

If you're looking for phonemic awareness, I wouldn't use this book since there should really be separate stories for long and short vowels, hard and soft consonants, etc, but overall a good read. My 2.5 year old daughter wants me to read about Abby the Alligator and Fifi the Ferret every night!
