We have enjoyed using this book of skits at our church both in church and (even more so) in our Summer Vacation Bible School program. The skits flow smoothly. We have used them with live actors and with puppets. Both work with these skits. We also have used them effectively with children under the age of 10 (the book is geared for 10 to adults). We especially appreciated the way some of the skits were directly from Bible stories while others were more in contemporary times but still keeping the truths of the Biblical story.

These versatile Bible skits come in 3 sections: one for Old Testament, one for New Testament, and one for Biblical theme skits. Permission for copying the skits for performances by the purchasing agency is already granted on the copyright page, thereby saving time and work in preparation for informal performances. Well-organized teaching suggestions accompany the skits. Good resource for Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, mission trips.

I sometimes run out of ideas for mid-week services. This gives the kids an opportunity to express how they see the scripture, and their questions about it. It is non-academic, meaning it is not like a worksheet activity which loses most kids. Kids really like acting out Bible Stories mid-week when they are overwhelmed with school and written work. This is fun and kids learn as well.

With 104 selections, we should have no trouble finding skits for our church youth for a long time! The skits are clearly indexed by topic, Bible character and verse, making it easy to find one to fit just about any need. The typeface is clear and large, making photocopying (yes, allowed!) easy. They are funny, although some of the humor is a bit sarcastic, so the wording may need to be toned down for younger audiences. Overall, this is a good addition to our church library.
