About the Author
Ron Stewart is a noted expert on knives, and provides certified appraisals of knives and collections, as well as assists insurance companies with appraisals and adjustment evaluations. He and co-author Roy Ritchie published one of the earliest manuals for collectors, the Kentucky Knife Traders Manual. They went on to publish the bestselling Standard Knife Collector's Guide, then others like Big Book of Pocket Knives, Cattaraugus Cutlery Company, and Standard Guide to Razors.

This book is not what I had expected. My inexperience with the subject matter is the main culprit. I was expecting more pics and info on the knives. This book would be great if your in the market for used knives as a collector or trader.

This book is great for a collector who wants background information on numerous knife companies. Samples of knives produced early and late in each company's history where applicable are shown as well as a brief abstract of the history of the company itself. Also the authors' opinions of the desirability of each manufacturer's knife is mentioned. This is a great reference book.

Looks great on the cover but inside it is poor quality black and white low resolution pictures. Pages look like something you would expect to see on the walls of Cracker Barrel. Very incomplete listing of knives from manufacturers and incomplete list of even some of the expected knife company's, Gerber, Cutco, etc. The prices are equally overly optimistic. Don't waste your time or money on this rag.
