I just received this book today and was immediately drawn in. The book is well written and the photos of the different revolvers and cartridges are second to none. The hunting stories and photos are also outstanding. Having a large collection of books pertaining to various firearms, I can say this will become an often read book. If you are a current big-bore shooter or a new shooter fascinated with the raw power of large caliber handguns, this book will draw you in. For the first time I have found a book that covers the whole gambit of the large handgun calibers and modern revolvers in one book. A must read.

The definitive piece on big-bore handguns and hunting applications. Max Prasac does a masterful job of showing the historical progression of revolver platforms, ammunition, and shooting techniques. There's also a strong focus on the men that brought us to this point and the players that'll move these cannons forward. Central to all of this is how such evolution advanced handgun hunting.

Thoroughly written and offering numerous counterpoints, Max provides a factual and objective view of the topic. The book also weaves together many facets of big-bore revolvers not previously connected.

The content will hook you, the photography will consume you. I highly recommend "Big Bore Revolvers" by Mr. Prasac.

This is a great book and certainly one I would have poured over hundreds of times if it had been around when I was growing up. But, many of the guns and cartridges covered in this book didn't even exist when I was growing up. Myself and many other's helped the author with the information and photos in this book but it was his vision and hard work that made this book a reality. If you like big-bore revolvers - the title says it all and you definitely want a copy of this book. I believe it will someday be referred to as a classic work.

What do you want to know about big-bore revolvers? Calibers, loads, how to shoot them, carry options--everything is here in Prasac's book, plus outstanding anecdotes and fabulous photography. Whether you are an old hand with these big guns or a newbie who needs a primer, this book is a valuable reference that deserves a spot in your library.

Max has provided the big-bore revolver enthusiast with a fantastic resource. This title provides numerous resources for the novice to expert shooter of big bores for custom builds, as well as reloading components. It provides a well laid out approach to firearm, caliber, and projectile selection for big game hunting.

Beyond it's technical value, it is a great source of entertainment. Thrilling accounts of hunting with big bore revolvers are second only to the fantastic photos of both beautiful firearms and the trophies they harvest.

As a novice to big bore revolvers, this work will be within my reach as a reference for me as I delve further into handgun hunting, particularly with large caliber revolvers.

This book really helped me to understand an appreciate the world of large caliber revolver handguns. My interest is not in hunting (an activity confined to the grocery store for me), but rather in home-defense. I realize that puts me in a small minority of people who would buy and read this book... a book targeted primarily at hunters. I do own a number of semi-automatic handguns for home-defense, but only one revolver - a .357 magnum - and I've had my concealed carry permit for 15 years... but I have recently begun to re-think the idea that having a large number of rounds available in the magazine is a key factor in choosing a handgun for home-defense.

The Glock .40 semi-auto has always been my favorite, and the choice of most law enforcement members, with an impressive 15 + 1 round capacity. But realistically I've been thinking: "Which is more important when the bad guy is breaking down the front door... to have the ability to fire 15 times with a .40 to .45 caliber SHORT bullet designed for semi-auto loading? ... OR... to have the ability to fire only 6 times... but with WIDE AND LONG Magnum-style bullets designed for large-bore revolvers that will deliver 3 to 4 times to stopping power?"

The odds of me needing more than 1 to 3 shots in a home-defense situation are, statistically, very slim... so why not make those shots count? Of course, it is not necessary to step-up to one of those ridiculously large .50 caliber hand-cannons that are used to hunt buffalo and elephant. Such rounds inflict such a severe recoil upon the shooter that quickly re-acquiring the target for a second shot (only needed if the first shot was not well-placed) would be challenging... and the level of noise generated would require using hearing protection...

Max Prasic knows about what he wrights. He is not only a writer but is also a shooter. Max brings his skills in both areas to us in a well organized manner introducing us to the great big-Bore revolvers builders. Included in the book are the manufacture revolvers and information of their development.
To those of us who are Big-Bore enthuses get to see friend and their revolvers. We see revolvers we have handled and had the opportunity to shoot; we also see revolvers we would like to have.

I recommend Big-Bore Revolvers for the art and beauty of custom revolvers that are works of art and the interesting way Max has arranged his writing and art work in his book.
There is something for everyone in his wonderful book.

Thank you Amazon for making it easily available to us.
