Any true fan of 60's psychedelic rock MUST have this in their collection! I was still in grade school when it first came out and as soon as I put it on my turntable it blew me away. Janis' raw,bluesy voice plus the band's snarling guitar work make every cut on the album a winner! GET IT!

This is one of Janis Joplin's most popular C.D.'s. It includes such classics as "Summertime" and "Piece of my Heart". This C.D. is an essential for all Joplin fans and it is an excellent addition to any collection. Joplin is often said to be the only white master of the blues. END

This is my favorite album from the 60's. In fact, I wore out 2 vinyl copies and now listen to the CD. WOW, what a voice! Janis sings with all her heart and soul. She was the best white blues singer ever. Yeah, Big Brother's sound is raw, but so what. They had pastiche - but most of all, they had Janis.

I don't know anyone who has listened to this album who does not like it. There is no female rock singer today who can rival Janis. For those who think "Jagged Little Pill" is a fantastic album, I say take a listen to "Cheap Thrills."

Did Crumb's artwork help sell the album? Undeniably, yes. That is why I bought it. I had never heard Janis. Boy, was I in for a great surprise. Order any of her albums through amazon. You will love them all, but this one is the best!
