Sometimes after we have calibrated the guns, I still can't get the target to hit the deers!

We thought it was just our unit and took it back to Target where we purchased it.

I received this for Christmas this year. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews on here because I might have been disappointed. I love it! It works great and is a lot of fun. I've played it with friends and family of all ages and everyone has enjoyed it.

A few things I had to do to help make it work:

1. I have a 42" LCD TV. I have to be pretty far back from it for the guns to register on the screen for calibration. To the point where the cable only had a little slack. If your screen is much bigger, you may have to play on a different, smaller TV. Also, once calibrated, try to stay the same distance and even try to hold the gun at the same height for it to register accurately. We re-calibrate every time someone else plays.

2. The targets on the screen from the gun lag. However, the guns don't. So it's best to aim with the gun and completely ignore the targets. It's really accurate this way. I wish there was a way to turn off the on-screen targets since they can throw you off, but oh well.

3. This one's obvious, but make sure the sensor you place on top of the TV is right-side-up. We took a while trying to get it calibrated once, only to find the thing was upside-down. (Doh!) It only works one way.

Hopefully this helps someone. It could be that I'm just lucky and got a game that functions right. But I love this game.

I'm not sure what happened to the other reviewers here, but I LOVE my Big Buck Hunter!!! It calibrates easily and works great!! I've played hundreds of dollars worth of BBH in the "arcade" and for the money, this product definitely measures up! I will say that if you cannot sit/stand at least 8-10 feet from your tv to play, this product probably won't work. All in all, I LOVE IT!

This game is SO much fun but unfortunately it completely stopped working in about 8 months (few times per month use). The screen went from jumping to snowy to blacked out and won't work anymore. It's way too expensive for such a short life span. When it did work it was fun and the gun reacted well to movement. Going to try the Wii version to see if that works better.

I purchased the Big Buck Hunter Pro as a present for the kids. Fortunately my husband opened it before hand to try it out. The guns would barely calibrate and you could not play on half the tv screen due to the fact it thought it was off the screen.

I was so excited to get this for my son but thoroughly disappointed that not only he can't even shoot a target, but I can't even get a good shot of the targets either!!! The calibration was aweful like the other reviewers mentioned so you're like 20 feet away, which means you have to be VERY VERY still to even get a good shot at the targets. It's as if they expect you to have a table under your elbows. I'm going to return it tomorrow.

PS. I actually have the Big Buck Hunger Pro 1Xpack but I'm sure they both work the same way.

The premise of this shooting game is excellent - offering a video game that plugs directly into a TV so you don't have to purchase a Wii or Play Station to use it. But there's good reason this two-gun version of Big Buck Hunter is no longer manufactured: we used it properly for only two days when the view finder stopped working on one of the guns, rendering it useless. The good news is that the manufacturer will replace it with the single gun version, as well as an additional toy, but the bad news is that two children can't play at the same time.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our son. He loves playing the arcade version at Bass Pro, and we thought he would love it. Unfortunately, as most everyone else has mentioned, the calibration is horrible. We thought it was just our unit and took it back to Target where we purchased it. We exchanged it thinking it was just our unit. We got the new one home and set it up. It would not even come on the screen! The batteries were all new and the indicator lights were all on. We tried it on 2 different TVs and no luck. All I can say is don't bother buying...it's a total piece of junk!
