4.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad At-Home Version
Where the arcade version of this game is a chainsaw, the Tv version is a scalpel. Very accurate aim is necessary to kill anything, sometimes to a fault. With only deer to kill players may miss the Moose and Ram, favorites of the original. The plastic shotgun is pretty well designed and seems durable. The features are very similar to the arcade otherwise. I think the game...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad.
I had originally gave this one star because we couldn't get it to work on our TV. Yes, that is more our problem than the game maker's, BUT they could've included better or at least SOME instructions with this game! Plus the customer service sux since we called and left messages for help and no one has ever called us back!

So with that said, we DID end up...

With only deer to kill players may miss the Moose and Ram, favorites of the original. The plastic shotgun is pretty well designed and seems durable. Buy one with confidence, just be prepared to play a little more tentatively and accurately then in the arcade version.

4.0 out of 5 stars really fun but not as great as the real video game, September 2, 2009

Fun but the target doesn't line up well with the site on the gun. It makes for very poor accuracy and makes it near impossible to shoot with any skill. We would use it more it it was more accurate. It can be frustrating when you can't land your shots. But, it was only $30, so I guess I can't expect too much!

I picked this up standing in line on Black Friday ($40). Didn't expect much because it's a plug and play game but it was worth it. The aim is the best but it better than alot of wii, playstation and xbox games that involve guns. My entire family plays this. all the way to my grandmother (well, she tried it). I actually did not regret buying this.

P.s. i wish you could decide which treks to shoot at instead of the game deciding randomly.

I loved this game in the arcade. My home version works better than most of the other reviewers say. The gun seems right on, although there does seem to be a sweet spot that you have to sit in, in relation to the TV, about 6 feet back and centered. Fortunately, that's right where my couch is.

The bonus rounds are great, too, and you can choose to just play them if you want.

I agree with other reviewers, that other animals would be nice.

This is a great game for what it is. Considering you dont need a game console its fairly impressive in playability and graphics. The gun reaction time is slow and favors a player who adjust his aim by looking down the barrel of the gun not just the radical on the screen. I think many people who have usability issues with this game dont realize that you should aim as you would a real gun then give the radical a second to catch up before pulling the trigger. Overall alot of fun and the kids love it.

A great game for everyone. Easy to get hooked on. Good sound effects and excellent video. Well worth the money. Also, easy to set up, just plug in to TV. A good choice for the whole family.

We bought this game for our sons 3rd birthday last year - he absolutely loves it! At first he had a hard time pumping to reload but now (a year later) has it down pat. The gun is a little big for little kids (since it really isn't a little kids game) but he is able to manage it.

It goes through a TON of batteries though! 3 AAA for the sensor and 4 AA for the gun.

It is a simple plug and play game - that is you don't need any kind of gaming system to make it work.

Fun for the kids and us adults alike!

My children (8 and 9 yrs old) and my husband all LOVE playing this game. On New Years Eve, a bunch of our adult friends played this for a long time, and everybody had a blast. There are some silly aspects...shooting cow-stealing martians, pappy's moonshine jugs and cow patties...need I say more? The ease of it is wonderful as well as it just plugs into your tv.

The first room we tried to use it in didn't work as the room is tiny. You do need a fair-sized room to complete the calibration correctly.

I would suggest buying this game as it is realtively low cost and fun for the whole family.
