If you have seen some of David Carter's other pop-up books, know that this is more of the same. The pages are filled with familiarly styled bugs, as well as some that have appeared before. The colorful bugs pop, both dimensionally and graphically, on the clean white pages.

This book's format is big, like the title says; it is ~11"x9.5", not a mini-book like many of his others. The pop-ups are varied; there are full-page massive ones, flip-the-flap ones, mixed-media ones, and even one that makes sounds. All worked smoothly in my copy and aren't difficult to fold/close. --A nice pop-up book.

My boys (now age 5 & 9) ADORE David A. Carter's pop-up books in his "Bug" series and have for years!! We have a rather large collection of them. We haven't found one yet that they didn't enjoy. The artwork is engaging, the pop-up's are creative & the writing is silly & funny!

I probably wouldn't recommend the books for under the age of 3 to read/play with (unless the caregiver is handling the book) as some of the tabs & artwork can be torn if handles roughly. Once the kids have the hang of "touch nicely", these books are great for fun for all!!

Featuring your favorite buds from previous books in this series, Big Bug Book is a delight. The pop-up illustrations are first rate as always and the collection of characters is appealing. I recommend this new edition highly. Another bug-theme book favortie is Ladybug Baby Bug, by Janice and Mark Perkins, due to it's colorful, endearing illustrations, also.

My daughter has loved these bug books since she was about 5 months old. When she sees them she gets super excited!! :-) very well done books.

I bought this book for my boys a few years ago and they love it, so I have since bought it as gifts for several other kids. It's interactive and fun! Best for ages 2-5.

If your child loves pop up books... this one is great. My daughter is 1.5 years old and wants me to read this one over and over. I definitely recommend it!

I purchased this book based on a newspaper review which was very positive about the book. I was a bit disappointed as I have several books by Robert Sabuda and the pop-up features in the Big Bug book are much simpler.
