My preschoolers and I really enjoyed this book. The wonderful illustrations encouraged lots of class comments and really gave our butterfly unit a different twist. The students requested this book several times during the unit, it really has become a class favorite. I would recommend this book for ages 3-6, though it could be stretched over or under that range. The pictures are captivating, making the written information almost secondary. It would probably be best to also include more scientific, fact-based books in your unit along with this book (I like Butterfly Magic by Melissa Getzoff) as well as several stories. Your students and children are sure to ask for more information after reading this book!
