Nice, But Display Doesn't Light Up...,
By
This review is from: AT&T Big Button Corded Black Speakerphone (Health and Beauty)
For those that might say "Why give it a bad revue for something it didn't say it had in the first place?" (I've seen that in a lot of TV revues recently) If you look at the pictures of this phone in any ad, not just here, this display LOOKS BACK LIT, so most people would assume it lights up. Even the cheap cordless phone this is replacing lit up when there was an incoming call. So it's not like a back-light is some extravagant thing you shouldn't expect unless specifically stated in writing. For me, the caller ID /display was the point of getting this phone, but if it doesn't light up, it's pretty useless for the very dimly lit room where it's to be located. A couple other cons - The hooks for wall mounting are really weak, thin plastic, but that's probably pretty typical of about anything in the "everything's disposable" world we line in. It also doesn't give you the option to plug it in to power the display, so you have no choice but burning through 4 AA batteries every so often. (I'm not concerned with the AC going off, I'd rather have it plugged in and not have batteries to replace. Other than all these things, I think this would be a nice phone if used in a brightly lit room, and you don't mind pointlessly filling a landfill with used batteries.
