5.0 out of 5 stars Never too old...., November 16, 2003
By
Natalie (Wahiawa, Hawaii USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
When I originally bought this CD I was 19, single and a lover of good punk. I am now pushing 30, married, a mother of 3 and have run more in the direction of music a little more mellow. We recently moved to Hawaii from the mainland and I was having a couple cocktails while I was unpacking and hit my long lost box of "cassette tapes"heehee. I found all of the music I haven't listened to in ages...because of the simple fact that we only buy CD's now. Anyhoo, I decided to mosh down memory lane....I am buying back all of my Face to Face tapes on CD because they are a great band....no matter how old you get! 'Disconnected' is still the best! Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Follow-Up To Their Debut, September 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
This is the first Face to Face album I bought. Keep in mind I wasn't into punk at this time. I was hooked by the first track "Struggle". The tag team of "A-OK" and "You Lied" is the best back to back they've ever put out. I think the best part of this album, is at the end. The band is arguing with their manager about putting their previously released "Disconnected" track in this album as well. It ends with one of the members saying..."There is no way in hell this song is going on this record". The next thing you know, the band rips into a raw but pounding version of "Disconnected". It's great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Punk Rock, May 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
This is the second Face to Face album I've purchased, and once again I'm impressed. The first Face to Face CD I got was their self-titled one, and that's what really hooked me ino their music. I really like the very end of this CD when the guys are arguing, pretty funny stuff. But anyway, if you like punk rock, you'll like this CD. I also happen to like punk/ska as well, and I still like this CD. My favorite tracks on here are A-OK and You Lied. One thing I like about Face to Face's sound in general is that their songs seem to be upbeat rather than dragging on and on. So anyway, if you like punk, this CD is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the album that got me into punk rock, September 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
Way back in 1995 I was doing a radio show with a very good friend of mine. He went digging through the stacks of records the station had and came up with "Big Choice". We cued up "A-OK" and I was forever hooked on punk. I'm almost embarrassed to mention this, but, I saw the Descendents a few months later on the Warped Tour and heard them go into "Bikeage". You'll imagine my suprise when I realized the Face to Face version was a cover! What can I say? I was a naive kid at the time. At any rate, I highly recomend this album to anyone who's into catchy, riff-laden punk rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD kicks ass!!!, February 13, 2001

This is Face to Face's 2nd album, and it is way better than the first! This album, Big Choice, gets you pumped up to do whatever you do that requires lots of energy. This is a kick-ass album to skate to, buts its not one of those backround crappy punk bands they play in the beginning of a tv show or something stupid like that, this CD you can sit down and listen to it, and it means very meaningful lyrics from one of the best punk bands, ever! You can listen to it over and over and these awsome songs such as "struggle", "sensible", "you lied" and "promises", and all the other sweet songs never get outplayed. "Don't Turn Away" was in '92, and "Big Choice" was released in '95. Face to Face put lots of effort into this album, almost 3 years, and they did a great freakin' job my friends! Face to Face's "Big Choice" is by far their best album, and I recommend you getting this album if you like punk and music to get to you pumped up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Face To Face..., June 21, 2001
By A Customer

I am into punk music. When my brother introduced me to the idea of a punk band that didn't "use foul language"...I was kind of in doubt that they were an actual punk band. I love this CD, I ended up taking it from my brother and I listen to it all the time. It is worth the money...you'll never get tired of it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, not great, August 1, 2007
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
I am a big Face to Face fan. I ordered this cd after seeing some live performances of these songs, but was a bit disapointed when I got it because the vocals don't sound that great. Granted Trever was sick when he recorded them, they sound sub par even for a punk record

4.0 out of 5 stars A CD with awesome music. Every song is oringinal and good., August 4, 1999

I haven't been been able to get enough of Face to Face ever since my friend introduced me to their music in 1997. I have all the albums including their newest arrival "Ignorance is Bliss" that I picked up at their concert on August 3-99 at the Great Music hall in S.F. This CD is only 4 stars compared to the "Don't Turn Away" album that was released a few years back. This guys don't only put out great CD's but they also throw raging concerts at numerous clubs. I give this band five stars, better than most and definetely one of a kind.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was blown Away!!!!!!!!!, July 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
This here album is unbelievable. Face To Face has been my favorite band since my cousin introduced me to them in 1996 by playing me the song Promises on this album. I highly suggest you pick this one up. Although, it was not as original, energizing, and...well.....addictive as Don't Turn Away, I think that the song Promises, and the newer, faster version of Disconnected will sum up this album pretty well

5.0 out of 5 stars Poetic Punk Rock, July 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Big Choice (Audio CD)
Face To Face is a great punk rock band, what more is there to say? The different, faster version of "Disconnected" sounds purely awesome, along with the cover of the Descendents song "Bike Age". This CD deserves way more than 5 stars!
