Editorial Reviews

These two powerful concerts capture Big Country at their very best. The content on the first disc was recorded at an East Berlin Peace Concert the year before the wall came down. You could feel the yearning for freedom in the air as 150,000+ East Germans

This is a great set! On disc one, you get their classic Berlin show, filmed between the release of 'The Seer' (1986) and 'Peace in Our Time' (1988). The quality of this concert is flawless. Highlights of this performance are the rare performance of "Restless Natives", a rocking "Steeltown", and Stuart's guitar switch on "Porroh Man". I think of the two discs, this one gets played the most.

Disc two was filmed on the last night of their farewell tour in their hometown in Scotland. The picture quality of this show is a little blurry, but the sound is great! The real treat is the behind-the-scenes footage and bonus material, which is very generous for this show.

I hope they continue to release more classic shows by this amazing band on more region 1-friendly dvd's.

This is a must have for any lover of good honest rock music. These two concerts are pure history and a testament to the brilliant writing and playing of Big Country. Stuart Adamson is sadly missed. Buy this for your collection and you will not be disappointed.

Simply put, get Without The Aid Of A Safety Net before buying this one. That one is a must-have fan heirloom.
