I was very pleasantly suprised when I recieveda copy of the album. I have gotten quite jaded over the last few years listening to knock-off Chicago Blues clones, both white and black. It seems you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a band trying to replicate the sound created in Chicago during the 1950's. Granted, it was great music, but it gets a bit tiring after a while, listening to one sound-alike band after another.

Big Dave and the Ultrasonics starts there in a marginal way then goes out to create an original identity of it's own. This band really rocks. There's not a weak member in the bunch and they all shine equally on this album. The arrangements are as tight as can be butleave plenty of room for superb jamming and instrumental prowess. Dave Morris truly shines as a harmonica player's harmonica player.

This album is absolutely outstanding and I'd recommend that you get a copy right away.

With all the "cookie cutter" blues music being released today,it's a special event when this band releases new music.They continue to amaze by topping their previous releases.Be sure to catch their live perfomance,because "it doesn't get any better than this!"

This is a continuation of the dynamite "blues with feeling" that has become a Big Dave standard. They are incredible band live and capture it well on this CD even though it's a studio product. Nice to see the switch in label has not resulted in a "new direction" that usually follows such a change. LOVE IT!!

I've got all 3 Big Dave CD's and have seen them perform live. Trust me you won't be disappointed with them. This latest CD is the best yet. If they come to your town make sure you check them out, you won't be sorry.

I can't understand why Big Dave and the Ultrasonics aren't a major attraction. This CD just might be the one to put them over the top. Big Dave's vocals are almost Lou Rawls' mellow. Check out his guitar work too. The harmonica, keyboard, drums and bass are all outstanding. Fourteen of the songs are original.
