I really love Richard Ellis. I am a nature geek and love reading about critters, ecosystems, plants etc. and Richard Ellis allows me to indulge in my geekiness. Big Fish follows the same, tried and true pattern of all Ellis' books. It goes species by species and describes each with great color. Ellis has a great sense of humor and you can tell he utterly loves his subjects. His writing is not 100% awesome but, when it's weak, he still gets the point across and the weak writing never lasts long. He often picks it back up in the next paragraph. A great strength of Ellis' is his illustrating. His images are beautiful and work perfectly with the writing. For me, Ellis' books are just enough information - not too much or too little. I found Big Fish to a total blast.

The unsurpassed master of readable marine biology has struck gold with his newest book. Extremely well illustrated and easy to read, it's a fascinating book about the largest fish in the seas.

Flashes of humor, and in depth knowledge makes this a great read.

Hint- get this instead of "Tuna".
