They 8217;ve taken a Bosch 15 amp worm-drive saw and converted it into a 14-Inch beam saw which allows you to cut 5-3/4-Inch deep. They call it 8220;The BIG BOY!!! The 14-Inch blade will cut all your 6x materials and 5 1/8-Inch glu-lams or gang cut 2 by 6 material standing on edge in one pass. The 14-Inch BIG BOY comes complete with a 14-Inch thin kerf carbide blade, the new universal handle for the left and right handed user and built in 75-Degree swing table. We all know how nice it is to have an extra swing for gang cutting rafters. At 72-Degree the BIG BOY will cut you 5-3/8-Inch long cut for the seat of a birds mouth. 5.0 out of 5 stars Saw zilla!, October 14, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Big Foot Big Boy 15-Amp 14-Inch Worm drive Circular Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchaced this saw for a special reason, to cut through the top of a boat that had to have it's motors changed. This wasen't your everyday kind of job,but one where the material was 4.5 inches thick and needed to be cut on a 35 degree angle. It's performance was remarkable to say the least. Although it was a little on the heavy side, it was not hard to control. It's power was easy to control,a civil beast. Other than a few sharp edges on the saw parts, I'd say it was a pretty nice job on the conversion of it's former self to it's present form. The carbide blade was very good and hung in there cutting the fiberglass composit deck and although I know this was not it's intended use, it still performed great. Now is this saw worth it's price tag? That depends on you, but I'll tell you this, it sure was for me! And one last thing, be prepared for a lot of comments about the size of your saw,it is after all a godzilla of a tool. Hey, and you get a nice t-shirt too!

2.0 out of 5 stars Big but underpowered, March 1, 2008
This review is from: Big Foot Big Boy 15-Amp 14-Inch Worm drive Circular Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
It was mismanufactured and sat out of square on the sled. Then the degree angle levers were misaligned;you could not tighten them as they struck the sled. I found that the big hole in the sled makes it hard to use when starting cutting a beam. The power is not alot different than my 7 1/4 Bosch circulat saw. You have to be really careful to pry away the cut off as the saw binds and stops.

The guard lever needs to be longer as NORMAL fingers cant hold it up when starting the cut.

I did not find it all that heavy.
