I have "The Big Green Book of Beginner Books" and The BIG Blue Book of Beginner Books. The stories in both books are easy for beginning readers; but the stories in the blue book have full plots and are more interesting. The green book stories are sillier and nonsensical. Dr. Seuss has written much better stories than these.

My daughter says she likes both books equally well. She especially enjoys searching for all the silly objects in "Wacky Wednesday." I will give her opinion more weight in the star rating. After all, it is a children's book and it does what I want, which is motivate her to read. I personally would have given it 3 stars.

If you are trying to decide between the blue book or the green book, I'd recommend the blue book.

I'm thrilled to have all these books in one book and to have all the pictures the original books had makes it not only a lot less money but more convenient to store on the book shelf - I hadn't seen the Duck Feet book since my nephew memorized it when he was small and now he is 47 years old so it was even more of a thrill to see it in this book.

This color compendium of some six Dr. Seuss beginner books features GREAT DAY FOR UP, WOULD YOU RATHER BE A BULLFROG?, WACKY WEDNESDAY and others, with complete text and art and original illustrations. This compliments CAT IN THE CAT and other readers for ages 5-8 and packages six Suess classics under one cover. A lovely gift for any beginning reader.

I love Dr. Suess books. In fact, my mom saved all of mine from when I was a child and I read those to my son. We love the classics: Hop on Pop, Green Eggs & Ham, The Sneetches, Yertle the Turtle, Cat in the Hat, etc.

Unfortunately, this book is not a collection of great classics. Other than I Wish That I Had Duck Feet (which I already have from when I was a child), the other stories leave something to be desired. They are cute, they are okay, but they are not the level I expect from Dr. Suess. A Great Day for Up is not bad, but I really could do without the others. My 3 year old son likes them, but they don't keep his interest like the better Suess books.

I saw this book in a store and bought it with my 5 year old grandson in mind. He loves the fact that it is a thick book, just like grandma's. He even put in a bookmark like mine to hold his place after he reads the stories. It is easy to read and unlike some of the Dr. Seuss books, makes a lot of sense in the story lines. He loves this book and can't wait to come to my house and read with his grandma. I just ordered the Big Blue book for him for Christmas. I highly recommend this book.

Great book! My 7 year-old can read the stories, and who doesn't love stories by Dr. Seuss? Would recommend it to anyone trying to get their child interested in reading.

Bought this for Christmas along with the Blue book for my 3 year old who is a big Dr. Seuss fan and already has the Big Red book. She sat in front of the Christmas tree reading it for 15 minutes before opening any other presents!

We love this collection of Dr. Seuss beginning books. I had never heard of any of them before getting this collection. The books are written in a slightly different style than his other books, but are excellent nonetheless. My favorites are "Great Day For Up" (such cute illustrations!) and "I Wish That I Had Duck Feet." My three-year-old loves finding all of the silly pictures in "Wacky Wednesday." He loves the whole book in general and reads it in bed every night! Highly recommended!

I got this book for my kid brother as a gift when he graduated pre-k, lol.
He LOVED it, it is his favorite book in the world, and he insists either me or my parents read him a story every night before bed. The artwork is original, the book itself is sturdy. I loved it.
I'm getting him the blue and red ones for Christmas :)

My girl loves this series. She is 4, and I read a story to her every night. The rhyme is great and the illustrations are fun. I wish they bring out more The Big "color" Books!
