Having both graduated high school and college in the 1980s, my husband and I became fans of 80s music for life--in fact, our recent wedding was all 80s! We own at least 10 different 80s compilation CDs, and this is definitely one of the best. The album is very diverse: it includes the expected 80s pop hits such as "Mickey" by Toni Basil and "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves, but it also offers some great, lesser-know tunes, namely "Mary's Prayer" by Danny Wilson and "Don't Shed a Tear" by Paul Carrack. Similarly, not only does the CD feature big 80s rock bands such as J. Geils and Steve Miller, but also there are some one-hit wonder groups, including Johnny Hates Jazz and Cutting Crew. A wonderful blend of various styles from that great decade of music.

I bought this CD for some tunes to stick on my ipod. I got kind of sick of paying .99 per song. At this price I was able to get a lot of 80's music for way less than I would have paid at the itunes store. The music is nice and clear and brings back mems.

Let me recommend this CD in this respect: Generally, it was all-around the best representation of 80's quality music out of the three CD's I received from my shipment. I have enjoyed this one most of all.

This CD contains a great selection of music from the 80s. Brings back fond memories of when I was in college. Glad they included songs from Billy Squire, Arcadia, Cutting Crew, and Steve Miller Band. I plan to purchase more like this from Amazon.

The twist is that this CD does contain 80's tunes but not the same old usual, tired fare that you see on so many 80's collections. Thank you Capitol Music Special Markets Division! So if you're collecting assorted 80's music, buy this one because you will get good music without so many duplications. Happy listening and thanks!

We bought this for my wifes son and when we shipped it to him he was surprised to find he liked every song on it. If you like 80's music you can't go wrong with this CD.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Big Hits of the 80s. I purchased this for my daughter. She said it took her back to her childhood days. Each song evoked a memory. The sound quality is excellent. The complilation of songs is fairly representative of the period. However, there were a couple of unfamiliar songs that could not be found on any "Hits of the 80s" lists. Despite this, my daughter and I still recommend this purchase to others interested in 80s music.

I often purchase gifts for other people so I try to really think about what that recipient likes and build around that idea. One thing that my husband loves, is '80s music. At the time, he and I were just dating. I made him an 80's gift basket for his birthday, and this is one of the CDs I purchased to put inside of it. He absolutely enjoyed it. It has a nice mixture of some pop songs, slow songs and the 'retro alternative' also known as new wave. He keeps it in his car now, in constant rotation on his CD player. I enjoyed it as well, and loaded it onto my ipod. If you miss the '80s music and you want an assortment of various 80s songs, this is a good cd to either start your collection, or add to it. With the way it is priced now, you save money and you can relive some of those memories from high school and/or college. Besides, you really can not put a price on nostalgia and the way it makes us feel. Enjoy.

This cd has alot of hard to find tracks i.e...ABRACADABRA and PROMISES, PROMISES. I really enjoyed this album.
