Book Description

November 1, 2001
Nowadays anyone can copy your product, or even your business model. What they can't copy is your worldview, your attitude, your special way of doing things. So in the future, the war in the marketplace will be a war of ideas. "The Big Idea maps" this new territory and shows how big ideas make great companies.  Based on the author's interviews with CEOs and his experience shaping big ideas at companies such as Andersen Consulting and the National Trust.

1.0 out of 5 stars Enthusiastic but clueless ............................, April 25, 2009

This review is from: Big Idea (Paperback)
The author is like a kid in a candy store for the first time - there are ideas everywhere, which one should he try next? The trouble is that he has no idea about any of them.

He lost me at page eight. "There's an endemic impatience with the status quo, a feverish pursuit of the next big thing." Endemic impatience? Give me a break! His bio in the book says, " ... he advises chief executives of national and global corporations ...". That is very hard to believe, but if true helps the Global Financial Crisis make a little more sense.

This book is superb. I was working as a corporate strategist at the time I read it, so trust me, I read dozens of business books a year, and this one stood out. Highly recommended.
