I first saw Big Jeff perform live at a local fair a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. I love that he pulls from a variety of styles of music which makes it pleasant to listen to even for the 200th time. For instance. Butterfly Waltz reminds me of the Cure, Get Yourself a Crayon is sort of Do Wap, and Building Song is kind of like an army march where one person says a sentence and the other repeat. My children enjoy his CDs because some of the songs are silly and others can be acted out. I also like the fact that his songs are original, not just rehashed children's classics.
Of Big Jeff's three albums, Big Jeff I is my favorite. As a musician, I would rank Big Jeff up there with Laurie Berkner and Jessica Harper.
