One of the Worst Wii Games,
By
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Big League Sports (Video Game)
Be warned!!!! Do not buy this game!First of all despite the title you are not really playing sports, you are only "playing" aspects of a sport. For example in basketball you are shooting free throws against a countdown clock (no dribbling,no opponent), in soccer you are playing goalie while the computer avatar kicks shots at you, or in tennis you are just trying to serve aces. There is no actual you vs a team competition like in Wii sports etc. Second the controls are awful - general you are basically just using the "A" button for clicks and that's it. It's amazing how many games just do not take advantage of all the motion capability of the Wiimote. Third the user interface of the game is horrid - I can go on and on but I will leave it at that. If I could give this game a 1/4 star rating I would! Utterly boring and not worth even $5.00. So much for buying a game before others review it.

If I could give it zero stars I would. As someone said, you don't actually play the game you play things that, allegedly, are part of the game. You know how some games have tutorials that you run through before you get to the good stuff? That is what this is. Without the good stuff.

Worse than E.T. on the Atari 2600,

If Activision has any integrity at all they will recall this game and offer credit towards the purchase of an actual game. Pretty much every Atari 2600 game including ET is better than this game. This is the worst "game" in the last 2 decades. I would rather slit my wrists than play this boring, lame excuse for a game. The programmers who made this game should be fired. I mistakenly bought this at Best Buy before reading the Amazon review. I played it for about 30 minutes, and thought, "what the ..." and visited Amazon and see that there are other suckers that Activision conned into purchasing this pathetic excuse. I'm sad that paper was wasted for the manual, that plastic was wasted on the casing and disk, and that electricity was wasted producing it. It's that bad!

abysmal & more a button smasher/timing arcade,

I rented this & played it for about 90 min. from BlockBstr. (I'm so glad blockbstr & gamefly exist for renting!)It has practice elements, 4 of each of: hockey, lacrosse, basketball, soccer, tennis & football. the menu is very bare bones & the loading times are nice & quick. There is multi-player, and there are no scores for even 1P except for during the game. I could not find any high score retention. You can choose a pre-made avatar or edit yours more w/very limited facial & uniform choices. The instructions are quick pic w/text, which to me didn't always coincide with what ultimately worked which is very bad. if you're looking for simulation, this isn't it by far, it's mostly a button smasher arcade/timing feel. at best, a few use tiny flick motions. the camera is from 3rd person feel & your character isn't transparent like wii sports so it's hard to see & you feel disconnected from what you are doing. there are stuttering issues as well when there is a lot of movement from the ball or your avatar. you are not playing full sports, but partial aspects, usually about 4 in each sport, which I love the idea of like wii sports practice, but the developers did very poorly at implementing any fun or the idea of INTERACTIVE movement point of the wii. Football you can be quarterback throwing & targeting to cardboard moving players (you point with the IR, hit A to lock on, THEN flick the remote), kicking, errr... I already forget the rest. Basketball you can you run down the court & choose first from pull down menus how you'll run & what type of dunk. in Fast Baskets you can make as many baskets as you can once you click to have a ball thrown to you, err.... I forget the other 2 "games" Tennis has hitting bulls-eyes on the ground, hitting bottles, hitting cards that move & pinball tennis. Pinball was the only thing on here I thought was decent since it's unique, has multi-balls in play sometimes, but the "board" is very small & mostly waiting for your turn to hit it back. Soccer has kicking to goal past standing obstacles, playing goalie (I couldn't get ONE!) & silly bouncing a ball on your foot & transfers to head & knee (I couldn't figure out how to screw up on purpose it was so boring!) Hockey had hitting to goal targets on each corner of the goal & the flick registered a full 2 seconds after I did the movement! NO JOKE!!! Totally broken. I lost interest in seeing how badly they could programs these games. I only played that long just out of morbid curiosity. many games it took me a while to understand how to play & there are so many clicks that the idea of motion is a joke. Edit: I thought it was just me, but I see this is just a bad game & I was generous & giving it 2 stars.

this is at best an arcade game, and a bad one at that. I just paid $39.95 for this game and i am going to trade it in at game stop for whatever i can get for it. i am also going to call customer service and complain. this game has been inaccurately described and marketed by the company as a sports game. it simply is not.

I lost interest in this game in under than 5 minutes. I thought you would actually be playing the sports it offers, but no. I'm totally going to trade this game in. even if i only get 50 cents for it, thats still better than this game taking up space in my apartment.

This has to be the worst Wii game ever! I was hoping to be able to actually play a full game of soccer, lacrosse, tennis, and the 3 other games. There are just mini-games to play, and they are so incredibly boring. They kept my kids interest for about 5 minutes and mine for less than 1 minute. Boy do I wish I could get the money back I wasted on this game! Save your money and buy Sports Resort or anything else!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Big League Sports (Video Game)
This game is not worth the money to buy, or even rent. My kids played it for 30 minutes, then moved on to something else. Not only is it boring, but it is hard to understand how to use the remote to play the games. We were hoping it would be similar to wii sports, but no comparison whatsoever.

Total bore. The response time of the games is horrible. The games don't take advantage of the wii remote motion. Not even worth a rental. I don't know how this game made it past the development stage.

We thought we were buying a game just like WII Sports except with different games, WRONG! Totally misleading title and sorry to say we paid 30 dollars for this painfully lame game. It is NOT a sports game it's more like a tutorial. We too bought this on an impulse without reading the reviews, so save yourselves and run away as far as you can from this. I would give this zero star if I could.
