It is the most heartwarming story I have heard in a long time. Since it is an audio book read by the author, his feelings come through.

I highly recommend this book. Not being a fan of Koontz's "darker" writing, I thoroughly enjoyed this uplifting story of the ways Trixie impacted their life. As an avid reader, usually one book a year makes a terrific impression on me. This year, it was this book, and I purchased several copies of the book and CD (hopefully being "abridged" it will still be wonderful) for family and friends. Looking forward to their feedback.

This is like no other Koontz book... you'll fall in love with his dog within minutes. Truly remarkable story, great for the whole family and I highly recommend the audio version because the author is the reader. Get it for your family roadtrip!!

Excellent for all ages. But it will make you cry a little if you reallY like animals.

I loved this book. I read it twice then bought the audio and listened to it while driving. I have given it as a gift many times since. Trixie was so wonderful and to hear an intelligent writer describe his and his wife Gerda's feelings regarding Trixie made me appreciate life more. I always thought I must be abnormal to think so much of my dog, sometimes I would wonder things like... I wonder if he ever gets a headache, or I wonder if he likes old rock and roll or classical music. I thought I was the only one that sang to her dog until I read this book. Now when he acts goofy I tell him, "Your no Trixie". The title of this book is so great, Dean Koontz became a entire new writer to me after reading this book.

I loved this so much I loaned it out & will give as a gift = HIGHLY RECOMMENDED = Not just for dog lovers but for all.

No one captures your heart like Dean does in this wonderful tribute to Trixie. This story shows how one dog forever changed his life, which is no doubt reflected in his subsequent novels. You can't help but give your own dog a hug after you've heard this.

Powerful stuff from a powerful writer. Dean Koontz life, so he states in the book, was changed forever by the adoption of a retired service golden retriever.

Trixie lived for 12 years, and became part of all of his reader's lives. I have read over two thirds of Dean Koontz' novels and you can see the philosophical changes of his writing after Trixie is a part of his and Gerta's (Koontz)wife life.

If you love animals and especially dogs, this will be the ultimate book for you. It's great to see the personal side of Dean Koontz in this amazing little tale of a very special dog.

This audio book changed my life. I would recommend this book whether you have a dog or not. It is so much more than about an amazing dog. It lets you get to know who Dean Koontz and his wife are - little bit of a bio and his feelings and experiences about life in general. This book spoke to me beyond words. If you want to know what it feels like to know love, loss and much more - please read or listen to this book. I am listening to it for a second time because it is so full that I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a thing! I have never read a book by Dean Koontz - He is a wonderful human being! I wish we had more people like him and his wife to occupy the planet.
