This is a reasonably informative book, reasonably well-written, with an interesting and frequently amusing style. How much you learn from it, of course, will depend on how much you knew coming in; still, there is useful information to be had even by the person previously well-read on the subject, and for the beginner there's simply a wealth of useful knowledge.
