About the Author

Lincoln Peirce (pronounced "purse") is a cartoonist/writer and New York Times bestselling author of the hilarious Big Nate book series (www.bignatebooks.com), now published in twenty-five countries worldwide and available as ebooks and audiobooks and as an app, Big Nate: Comix by U! He is also the creator of the comic strip Big Nate. It appears in over three hundred U.S. newspapers and online daily at www.gocomics.com/bignate. Lincoln's boyhood idol was Charles Schulz of Peanuts fame, but his main inspiration for Big Nate has always been his own experience as a sixth grader. Just like Nate, Lincoln loves comics, ice hockey, and Cheez Doodles (and dislikes cats, figure skating, and egg salad). His Big Nate books have been featured on Good Morning America and in the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, and the Washington Post. He has also written for Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Lincoln lives with his wife and two children in Portland, Maine.

My nine year old daughter loves this book. I have been giving her the Nate books since she was 7 years old. she loved them and has continually asked for any other Nate books to read. This has inspired her to read more and now reads everything that she can get her hands on. Who would of ever thought that a simple book as Nate would inspire her to read more.

I bought this series of books for my granddaughter and she loves them. Gives her something else to do during the summer and helps keep her reading skills up.

I haven't read the book yet- however had it waiting for my daughter in the car when she got out of school- and she had it in her hand the entire night. She read parts to me, her younger sister and her father- and has been giggling quite a bit- so I guess it's a hit! :)
She had be re-reading some of the other Nate books she had- so I was excited to get her this newest one!

As a Big Nate fan myself this wasn't as good as I expected it to be. It's pretty much like all the other books just a different story. No New characters no New anything. I do not suggested buying this book.

Just like the other books this has funny moments of Nate planning things to fool Mrs. Godfrey. He tries to take his pals to try and raid Mrs. Godfrey's desk, but they get caught and are both sent to detention as Francis, the friend giving a signal, does not do his job as he wants to get Nate and teddy caught. They give him a wedgie later as payback. There are many other stories like this in this graphic novel. If you like big Nate and comedy, you have come to the right book.

I was unfamiliar with the Big Nate series, but my brother suggested it for my nephew because he read most of the other ones. I was happy to hear my nephew say he had not heard of this one (or the other one I purchased, Big Nate: Here Goes Nothing) and was excited to dig in. It's good to see a kid excited about reading, even if it is mostly pictures.

All I used to read was warriors, then I finished the series. My favorite book was Calvin and Hobbes. Now I have found something even better...
