Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

In his latest outing, world-class slob Nate Wright alienates best buddy Francis by publicly revealing his middle name (“Butthurst”), responds to a posthypnotic suggestion by becoming an eerily obsessive neat freak, and loses a borrowed camera. The largely visual narrative is composed of pen-and-ink cartoon panels and comics pages that are linked by short passages of present-tense commentary and stocked with sound effects and coded messages. Peirce tidily resolves all three crises while leaving his Wimpy Kid alternate on top in the wake of a closely fought school Trivia Slam. Yuks galore, with a large, ready-made audience. Grades 3-6. --John Peters

I got this book for a valintines gift did not take long to read. Its about nate borrows a camera and loses it. Francis (his friend) has to say HE did it and he has to buy a new one. Teddy (nates other best friend) and Dee-Dee (a friend from the school drama club) decide to get nate hypnotized so he can be neat and find the camera. Nate HATES being neat. Buy to read the rest.

I am such a fan of the Big Nate books. I've read every comic collection and every novel. I was so excited to read this book when I found out it had finally come out (I'd been counting down the days). It's super funny and it really connects to middle school or elementary school students who are having friendship troubles or maybe just need a laugh. I'm definitely going to spend my money on the next novel in the series, . Big Nate: In The Zone!
Big Nate books: definitely worth the money!

My little girl loves Big Nate. I continue to buy them for her and I continue to hear her laugh-out-loud and share with me what she reads. Big Nate has been one of her favorite characters and is how I got her hooked on reading. Now she gets them as a treat for doing well in school. She will mention to me that its time for a new book when she shows me her report card. Children are so much smarter today...

First my son read it (age 9) and then my daughter (age 11). They couldn't put it down; nice to be able to share it.

I understand your disappointment. I hope Kindle soon gets this issue resolved. We just upgraded to the Fire HD because of this and it's still a problem.
