Just what I needed
I saw a friend's copy of this book and thought it would be ideal when I need patterns for "prayer shawls," which a group in my church are knitting. Because of the use of big needles, projects will be completed very quickly, and the patterns are very attractive. I expect to get a great deal of use out of the book.

Little disappointing
This book has awesome photography, and great ideas for afghans, but I would never make any of the shawls, or adult sweaters in the book. They are bulky and not flattering even on their cute models. I debated if I should return the book since there were only a few patterns in it that I would make, but the base patterns of the sweaters and shawls would make neat blankets...

Poncho Problems,

I knitted the classic poncho: the model for the poncho is shown with her hand covering the neckline. Well, the neckline on my poncho turned out very out of proportion. Could that be why the model's hand was over the neckline? Also, the book shows one-size-fits-most patterns, and I learned that that is cheapo when it comes to calculating a good fit. Cheapo!
