This is a superb album of acoustic Delta blues featuring Thom Roberts (vocals) and the incomparable Carlos Del Junco (pronounced "HUNco"). Del Junco is better known in his Canadian stomping grounds around Toronto and Ontario, but deserves to be better known everywhere, as perhaps the finest blues harp player ever. That may sound extravagant, but just listen to this and his only other US released CD, "Big Boy", and you will be convinced. Del Junco produces and extraordinary range of notes, chords, and cascading harmonies never before heard from so humble an instrument, and sings with a sinewy vocal style reminiscent of Paul Butterfield. Two other outstanding albums, "Blues" (another acoustic album) and "Just Your Fool" (recorded live) have inexplicably not been released in this country, but are available online at [...] Catch Del Junco now. He is beginning to attract a large and devoted following. If there is any justice in the pop musical world today, you will be hearing a LOT more of him in the future.

A blues fan for almost 30 years, I have heard many versions of 'Come On In My Kitchen', but nothing quite matches the one on this album. The smooth, horn-like quality of Carlos Del Junco's harp is other-worldly! As a guitar/harmonica duo these two really shine on classics such as 'Big Road Blues', 'Future Blues' and 'Death Don't Have No Mercy'. This is one of my all-time favorite blues albums - highest recommendation!
