5.0 out of 5 stars Dreamlike and druggily addictive, October 24, 2001

I found myself listening to this on my walkman over and over again while toiling at a temp job for a certain software empire. It was the only thing that got me through endless days of being stuck in a windowless room with an army of computers manned by socially inept 17 year-old gamers. The power of Lisa's voice is both subdued by and carried through the music. It kept me sane amoung these Dorito-munching, black sweatsuit-wearing, Red Bull swigging coders, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Happily, that job is no longer, but my love of Big Sir lives on.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm just sad there isn't more, July 7, 2004

I have Big Sir's albums "Big Sir" and "Now That's What I call Big Sir." And that's all they have. According to their official site, a new album is soon to be released. "Now That's What I call Big Sir" is just an album of remixes of the first album, but it does add a lot for someone who like me is totally addicted.

Lisa Papineau's vocals complement a hypnotic trip-hop background with an absolutely captivating melody. I'm not a music geek, but something about these albums just kills me.

The track I'm most obsessed with is "Le Baron." It has to be heard to be grokked, I can't say more, other than that I could listen to it a dozen times in a row, and have.

4.0 out of 5 stars No comment or flussy music, January 2, 2001
This review is from: Big Sir (Audio CD)
It's typical new, one of the excitings earssmashing but colorful music albums hearing the last week. I believe that the pereformers know what is living around and no fishing for compliments. Sorry but it's really dissopointed it's the compliment of the first day of 2001 and believe not only cream but sugarfull tasting.
