5.0 out of 5 stars Still recording great music, August 2, 2003

This is a generally upbeat album that maintains Highway 101's tradition of good-time rocking music, although there are more ballads here than were present on their early albums. The sound is also a little different, but still brilliant in its own way.

Chrislynn Lee, Highway 101's singer at the time this album was recorded (and still their singer as I write this) is a wonderful singer in her own right. One of the tracks here, There goes my love (a cover of a Buck Owens song) was also recorded by the band in Paulette's time and appeared on one of their early albums, so anybody wishing to compare these two classy ladies has a basis of comparison. Apart from that song and one other, all the songs here were written or co-written by members of Highway 101. The other song, Ain't that just like love, also appears to be an original.

Judged purely on its own merits, this is an excellent album that deserves to sell in huge quantities. Despite all the line-up changes, the essence of Highway 101 has remained constant through the years, perhaps because Cactus Moser and Curtis Stone have stayed loyal from the beginning. I'm pleased to see that they are all still sufficiently popular to be able to continue making music. As I write this, they plan to record another album. If it's as good as this one, it will certainly be worth buying.

While Highway 101 are not as important as they once were, their influence is considerable. It is especially obvious in the trio Trick Pony, perhaps the nearest contemporary equivalent to the original Highway 101.

Just drove 3 hrs.R/T to see Highway 101 at a small town affair and heard them sing/play a couple of the songs off their new CD along with some of my all time favorites. I bought their new CD and listened to it on the long drive home. I can't put into mere words how undying the talents of Cactus Moser and Curtis Stone truly are. One of my favorites is a song Cactus wrote called I Wonder Where The Love Goes. (A number 1 hit waiting to happen!) With the impeccable vocals of Chrislynn they've got it right once again! BUY THIS CD, you won't regret it!
